    Cleric changes explained (Podcast)

Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game Official Home Page - Article (D&D Podcast: Class Compendium Cleric) This links to the podcast where they discuss the changes to the Cleric that we saw last week. Some answers are good and other are week (specifically where they are asked why choose the Cleric...

    Cleric (Templar) is Up

Number 1: I'm not sure if they'll be added to the official compiled PDF or be generated into one, single PDF entitled "Class Compendium". Number 2: The errata of the classes of the Class Compendium have all been planned and laid out since the release of the Marshal (I think we were told the...

I'm not sure I buy the Fullblade

I rolled up a brawler fighter, who for dailies, quickdraws out a "fullblade" which in game is an iron pipe. He also quickdraws a Katar that is a shiv. He's a street fighter from jail. He fights dirty, by instinct and with sheer force (enhancing everything through a Monk's ki focus), so that he...

    Heroes of Virtue article

What I find most troubling in the creation of these themes is that several, not just one, but multple themes involve or are even based on ADMITTEDLY (whether by the community or WotC themsevles) weaker aspect of the rules! Item Rarity? Even WotC said to ignore it. Animal Companions. Scaling...

    Heroes of Virtue article

We've known about Bladesinger for a while. It's in the Neverwinter book coming out. Giant-Slayer? A Sub-Subclass? Or is that a Sub-Sub-Subclass? I lost count.

    Heroes of Virtue article

Am I the only one entirely let down by the Noble theme? No passive benefit at 1 (granted a decent power though it costs a move action). No passive benefit at 5, just a lazily handed over common item and then finally a fitting skill benefit at 10. The utilities are pretty cool. I like the level...

    Cleric (Templar) is Up

http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75882/27650565/Divine_Oracle_NOT_Errataed! So, it would appear costumer service says that there was in fact no "stealth errata" to Divine Oracle. I'm interested to see how this plays out. CS is good, but they have given out wrong info before.

    Cleric (Templar) is Up

I don't mind errata. I think it helps the game or helps us get an idea of where the game is heading in terms of development and usually it's for the better, however, a minor disconnect like this is annoying. What happened in the brief period of the article going live and then copy/pasting it...

    Cleric (Templar) is Up

I can't remember the last time I saw a Cleric using anything that wasn't from Divine Power. Also, nothing in the game scaled like Turn Undead and now nothing does. Haha.

Just got The Shadowfell: Gloomwrought and Beyond

I think I will have to go pick this up now. While I am in fact interested in the Despair Deck, and setting also sounds fun, it's those monsters that sound delightfully evil (especially seeing what they've shown in the previews so far) and I like the sound of that. Good review, Aegeri. I'm sure...

    Themes article up

Well, from a design stand point, here is a slightly different take. I believe these were intended to be the Paragon Paths of the Heroic tier. This is why they do not have their own PPs or why they can not power swap. I believe the "Essential" aspect in all of that is the designers aim to make...

    Themes article up

I would imagine they'll sort the items... one day. Alchemist's fire in that article does say Common. And yeah. Poor, poor minions that you can only get back via extended reest at level 5! If you were allowed to spend a surge and give them Temp HP that would be SOMETHING. It's too risky in...

    D&D at Gen Con

Whoops! Browser Settings Incompatible Then go to the blog option on the left hand side (the forum option is handy too) Whoops! Browser Settings Incompatible There's some info about Gen Con there. Dunno if it helps you, but it should. I do LFR but not Cons, so I never read that GenCon entry.

How do you stop an Assassin's poisoned dagger

So you want to remove a mediocre at best class's few solid mechanics? The poisons are also lack luster (at least in Heroic) so landing them doesn't do much. Apparently my negative feedback at giving what is essentially (pun?) a Daily attack power an Encounter power level of effects and damage...

    Gunfighter build advice

Oddly enough, according to Customer Service, you cannot take an extra Trick but instead an At-will from the Rogue class. Though it will feel largely unnecessary in comparison to the Thief trick/basic attack set-up.

Tell me about the essentials rogue

In my opinion the Thief is one of the most well designed subclasses in Essentials. It also probably has the better of the inter-class compatibility with the original Rogue builds (with the exception of some fighting "Style" feats that need specific At-wills to activate) as most class feats serve...

    Feats & Fighters

Just realized there were no feats for the Ranger to swap with Hunter/Scout. Though, honestly I wanted to trade Disrupting Strike for Disrupting shot, but that's probably going to get nerfed with Twin Strike too.

    Heroes of Shadow

Hey, Klaus. I recall in another thread you mentioned that you had worked on the feats (I think it was during the feat preview thread). Were there any limitations or guidance given to you in which direction to take the feats? Feats are kind of a back-and-forth subject in the D&D community as a...

Designers looking for mechanics feedback on Optimization Board

I'm sure, like most everything, the fan reaction will be mixed. Essentials is a prime example of that. Personally I loved the direction Essentials took. WotC is ALWAYS in the hot seat when they make a choice or a decision or take a suggestion (heck, how often do we question those "Rule of 3"...
