    D&D 4E 4E PrRC ~v2.7~ FINAL UPDATE May 29.08

Hah, I see. I wasn't so much pointing out a mistake more being confused. We might be playing 4E come June and I'm eyeing up the Ranger class. That power made him a bit of wuss put to the Rogue so I was a bit confused. Thanks for the info.

    D&D 4E 4E PrRC ~v2.7~ FINAL UPDATE May 29.08

What's the point of the Ranger's Carefult Attack, isn't that just a normal attack? I may be getting confuse by how the powers are laid out.

Profecy of Priestess new blog entry

I shall bow to those with greater experience. The only 3E campaign I played was in the first two years of its release and it was a lot more dynamic. We didn't use minaitures or get past 10th level like.

Profecy of Priestess new blog entry

The only thing I find confusing about these actual play posts is the sudden realisation that a fight should be more than just two groups standing toe-to-toe and hitting each other.

    Rodney Thompson: Non-Combat Encounters

Hah, this old chestnut. It largely comes down to playstyle, as everyone knows, so trying to debate it backwards and forwards isn't going to work. I like declaritive use of skills. I like them because I don't want to play games that involve me getting out of the DM's puzzle, whatever that may...

    Gleemax is 10% useful=90% useless

While he's suffering the problem, I'd say if IE is problematic with Gleemax it is a very big problem for them. I don't use it much, so I can't say I've encountered many bugs. I just think it looks thrown together and just seems to go out of its way to be ugly, awkward and annoying.

Design & Development: Warlord Article UP!

I'd agree with that. My MMO comment was more related to organised play.

Design & Development: Warlord Article UP!

As the months have passed I've just come to the conclusion that if you look at 4E as a board game it all makes sense. More specifically a competitive board game to be played at organised play events with organised play having a lot of similarities to an MMO at the table. Everything makes sense...

Why Not Just Call Them Stamina Points?

I don't overly have a problem with it all. I just watch the Lord of the Rings films and notice that at least three characters get thrown around and bashed by the cave trolls club (and thrown back into walls). They get back up. They seem fit enough afterwards to run away from the Balrog. It's a...

Developing a "points of light" campaign setting

The way I'd do it is as follows: Start off with a blank piece of A4. Pass it around the table three times. Each time a players holds the piece of paper he can add a location (the lost tower of the arcane, the lonely druid, the Temple of the One-Eyed God, etc). When it's been around three times...

D&D 4E 4E balance: Does it extend to PvP?

Hmmm, slightly odd question, or maybe I'm slightly odd for finding odd :) I suspect the answer is yes, but I also suspect it's not been top of the agenda. They'll be balanced against each other in one-on-one PvP but probably more because each class should not out shine another and each class...

    WoW is becoming DDM

Wow, no pun intended. And I thought their break into the CCG market was clever.

Someone used a pheonix feather on them on their turn, obviously.

    Races and Classes, Two-Weapon Fighting?

I can't back this up, but I have a strong feeling it's going to be a striker thing - it just feels right.

    Triple HP at 1st level?

The Stormtroopers and the Uruk-Hai server exactly the same purpose in the story: as tough as nails and feared by everyone until they come up against the heroes of the story. There is actually no real difference between the two in a dramatic sense. Any attempt to make it sound realistic, or...

So, what do you want to play?

I'm really the idea behind the Warlord.

    Even more Mike Mearls

Probably, and that is a good reason not to do it as far as I'm concerned. Realism is highly overrated in games, and even games that are labelled as more realistic often aren't they just sort of fit into a sweet spot of gamer perceptions of realism. In my view the HP / AC system is actually one...

    Humans are corruptible!

Whether it has a mechanical effect or not I don't know, but I suspect it will be along the lines of how humans are betrayed in some other fantasy properties - amazingly adaptable and flexible, but also prone to many weaknesses. In Lord of the Rings, the story is very much about humans standing...

D&D 5E (2014) Who Will be The Next Monte...

I haven't kept an eye on Mike Mearl's career, as that would be ridiculous, but I do remember being in discussions with him about gaming stuff when he was just another voice on Gaming Outpost or The Forge - I forget which. Pretty sure it was one of those, but I may be wrong. Memory fades. So...

    Thank god for ENWorld

I was just thinking this morning that the reaction to 4E has been amazingly level-headed and open minded. I guess the fact I've got that view is because I'm reading the reactions here. I shall continue to stay away from the Wizard's boards :)
