    Old School Adventurer Squares

I am having some issues with colorizing them, due to the limited resolution of the scan and some minor medical issues. I will still work on it, but others should feel free.

    Old School Adventurer Squares

Well, you know, checking message boards after seeing a play. Can't sleep, so might as well do something.

That could be fun. I will see what I can do.

    Dice Bag...

I got a great wooden box, hand carved in Poland. I can't remember if I got it or if I got it as a gift. Red velvet inside, stunning moon and star carving on the box. If I was on a different computer I could show you pictures.

How much money do plan on purchasing 4E/GSL products this year?

Since my group has no plans or desires to play D&D 4e in the coming year, I can safely say I will be spending zero dollars on it. Besides that, I have not seen anything coming up that would make me want to buy it and convert it to whatever game system we are using.

How much money do plan on purchasing 3E/OGL products this year?

For me it all depends on me getting a new job soon. If I do not, gaming purchases will be zero. If I get one soon I can start buying this summer. Then it will depend on what is available, what looks interesting, and what I can convince my players to play. I can say this for certain: No money...

Players: Do You Buy Your Own Miniatures?

All nine of my players have a miniature of their own. One is plastic, all the rest are metal and custom painted. The cleric even has miniatures for all the creatures she summons. One player supplied his own horse miniature, and the two who use riding dogs have minis that are being painted.

    Highest level you've played

I rarely play D&D these days, so I have to go back to the games of my youth to have any high level characters. For AD&D 1e, the highest was a Druid of 14th level. I started Rantaur Fairchild (half-elf) as a 1st level character, and played him for years. In D&D (RC) I played a 9th level...

    Random Character Generation

Funny, but I think I can say the exact same thing, except switch random and point buy. But, again, it really depends on the system. GURPS is not good as a random system. I don't feel that D&D is good as a point buy system, but I know others disagree.

    Random Character Generation

For me, it really, really, depends on the game system. If I am playing D&D, in any incarnation, I expect to roll for attributes and hit points. Random rolls are required for Traveller, Gamma World, Villains and Vigilantes, and games of a similar age. If I am playing GURPS, or Hero System...

Forked Thread: 3.5 Discounts (FREE TOOLBOX)

Okay, that is my mistake. I apologize. Call it an instinctive editor's reaction to a name. I promise to only capitalize it if it starts a sentence; or maybe I will just rewrite the sentence to avoid that as well.

You know, I have to say, that Pinto guy is pretty inconsistent. First, he tells me he's sending me something, but to not tell people. Then he says I can talk about it when I get it, but it has to be funny. Then what does he do? He doesn't send me a copy of Toolbox. He sends me a signed copy of...

    Air bubble in dice-affecting rolls?

For those who are having trouble with rolling 4-sided dice, or who do not feel that they roll well, I have a two word suggestion: Dice Cup. Take one from a backgammon set, or buy a nice one with ridges on the inside. Roll your d4 in there and you will get a nice clean roll every time. I...

    Air bubble in dice-affecting rolls?

Mr. Z probably does the best job of explaining what does and does not alter the probability of your dice rolls. He is recommended for good reason, the guy knows his dice.

Forked Thread: 3.5 Discounts (FREE TOOLBOX)

Here is why I think I deserve the copies. I run a D&D game that have been going on for about 4 years now. We are having a great time playing D&D 3.x, and don't expect to quit any time soon. I've been wanting to get some new and exciting material for the game for quite some time, but life has...

    Misconceptions about 3.5...Answers

OK, I have a question related to the solutions given in the original posting. Am I right in assuming that Unearthed Arcana is a collection of variant and optional rules? Is the same valid with regard to the Player's Handbook II? A second question: can any of the misconceptions/problems...

ENworlder: How long have you been gaming?

If you are talking RPGs, I started with my gift of the Traveller boxed set and Mercenary on Christmas 1979. So, what did I do this last Christmas? Same thing I did 29 years before: made characters with the new Traveller game. Of course, this time it was the playtest for Traveller 5, but still...

Did Prepainted Minis Get You Into Minis?

I have always loved miniatures, even when they were just used in a very abstract way (show general marching order, show how many opponents you have left, etc.). Sadly, I am allergic to some of the VOCs used in most paints. This means that most of my metal minis stay unpainted. Unless, of...

Playing characters of the opposite gender

In the last campaign I started, several years ago, I started with a very large group of players: 6 men and 3 women, plus me as the DM. To aid me in running a brand new game, and to better avoid some confusion, I asked people to create characters who matched their gender. This saved a lot of...

Traveller:Restrictive Licensing + PDF sales suck

Umm, Far Future Enterprises doesn't need a license. That is the one man company run/owned by Marc Miller, the rights holder to Traveller. The company was created to sell old GDW stuff like Traveller, MegaTraveller, Twilight:2000, and 2300AD (aka Traveller: 2300).
