    Different Types of Magic

How many of you like to make your game have different subdivisions of magic beyond just the Arcane/Divine split? Dragonlance for example, has Ambient Magic and Focused Magic. Ambient magic is Sorcery and Mysticism(introduced in the fifth age) and Focused magic is High Wizardry and Clericism...

    Second Darkness [Pathfinder] IC

Claud holds his hands to his eyes. Damn, I can't see a thing in here. It sounds like things have gone downhill now. I hope the others can deal with the problem quickly. Claud thinks to himself. OOC: These are just Claud's thoughts, I know he is not going to be doing much this battle.:)

The Society for the Study of the Modern Visual HIVE!

I am not sure about CM, I think I just started a thread with a topic that has been discussed a lot lately in the General forum, and people just sort of took their issues with "Storytelling" systems with them to the thread.

    Storytelling Games

:hmm: I think all of the above mechanics are a good way to define "Storygames" as a subset of RPGs. I think the players having a bit of control over the world via game mechanics is a good indicator of a game that could be considered a bit of a "Storygame".

    Storytelling Games

I have noticed some threads(okay, maybe just one) talking about whether a game is an RPG or a Storytelling game. I am having trouble myself telling the difference between the two. The only main difference I can think of is that in Storytelling games the players and GM (Or Storyteller?) have...
