Spelljammer D&D Direct Live Report: 9am PDT (5pm BST) SPELLJAMMER CONFIRMED! DRAGONLANCE!

It definitely seems based on the tweets I've read that you can sail to the Nine Hells or Outlands through the Astral. That said, I doubt it will be mentioned much at all (as that is essentially an entirely different setting) so I don't see much point calling this Planejammer.

D&D 5E (2014) Astral Sea and Wildspace in the 5e Cosmology

I'm fairly certain the Astral Plane and Astral Sea are not distinct bodies; they're just synonyms, or different words describing the same thing. The cosmology seems to me to be laid out like this; Wildspace is the area closest to Material Place worlds. Old lore was that this is essentially...

    Spelljammer 64-page Spelljammer books?

I will say, as someone who ran through those adventures... they aren't so much "adventures" as little mini-dungeons. A couple do have pretty good stories tied to the dungeons (the gnome one is great) but most do feel like "hack and slash" mini-dungeon locales. Which is not exactly a bad thing...

    WotC D&D Digital Library

I don't really agree that it's completely apples and oranges. The FLGS example especially, I don't think it would be particularly difficult to at least give FLGS codes to access the DDBeyond content if you purchase a hardcover there. The Essentials Kit had this in its box, so its something they...

D&D 5E (2014) Warlords of Krynn and the 4e class name in it...

A warlord could work in Dragonlance. But its almost certainly not happening; a new class is something that would go through at least one round of UA, and there hasn't been a whiff of it. I doubt we will ever get a new class for vanilla 5E again, except maybe a psion in Dark Sun.

    WotC D&D Digital Library

I mean, if you buy a hardcover off of Cubicle7's site, you get a free pdf. You also get one if you buy at your FLGS. And you could get digital content for free by buying the Essentials Kit for D&D. I don't think this is exactly a difficult puzzle for WotC to figure out for at least some of its...

Spelljammer D&D Direct Live Report: 9am PDT (5pm BST) SPELLJAMMER CONFIRMED! DRAGONLANCE!

I know a bit about old "Core" Ravenloft, having done a bit of research on it for fun. I wouldn't call it "dumb" (this is D&D, any or all of it can be called silly) but I don't really love the concept of the Core. I idea of all these different little countries, torn from different worlds and...

Spelljammer D&D Direct Live Report: 9am PDT (5pm BST) SPELLJAMMER CONFIRMED! DRAGONLANCE!

The power of nostalgia. It was always better when we were kids... doesn't matter who we are!

Spelljammer D&D Direct Live Report: 9am PDT (5pm BST) SPELLJAMMER CONFIRMED! DRAGONLANCE!

The more I learn about people's preferred "version" of a setting, the more I believe people prefer the version they grew up with. Meaning, folks whose first experience with Ravenloft was THE OG Ravenloft, like that version. The folks who first started with the Core, like that. And then there's...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5E Product Chart - Updated 4/21/22

It's the latter, I'm always happy to see more books, but I am also a realist and try to make honest assessments of in predictions. A sixth book would be nice, I just don't believe it is happening. As for my purchases, I used to get about 3 books a year. Recently that has dramatically fallen, as...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5E Product Chart - Updated 4/21/22

Oh I think the two make an EXCELLENT pair! I'll even use Ravenloft to hint at the worlds that the Domains of Dread stole from.

    D&D 5E (2014) 5E Product Chart - Updated 4/21/22

It's not my favorite format, but yes I could see it. I'd probably prefer a book like Candlekeep Mysteries or Radiant Citadel, with a fairly beefy summary of a hub (Sigil) and then longer adventures going across the planes. But that's essentially Radiant Citadel, so I know that's not happening.

Spelljammer D&D Direct Live Report: 9am PDT (5pm BST) SPELLJAMMER CONFIRMED! DRAGONLANCE!

Well, my complaint is largely on the format, which is leading to the higher price. I'd prefer one book, no screen or slipcase, for a lower price. I get the utility of three separate books, but to me it's not worth an extra $20 or even $10.
