Art is subjective, but I've always found 5E's art of the highest quality. But yes, I agree that even if a price hike was inevitable, these are huge price hikes. Really unjustifiable.

I think it is absolutely fair to criticize a $20 price increase, that's a 40% price hike. I get inflation exists, but this is a major jump in price. If the books totaled 300+ pages or more, I could maybe defend it. But less than the Ravenloft book? Bad taste to me.

I'm disappointed by the lower total page count... it's smaller than past settings, and the "new format" is just meant to charge a higher price. Even with inflation as it is, I'd prefer a normal book at $60 than three smaller books at $70.

Seems unlikely to me... the cross-overs announced so far seem pretty limited to MTG (Warhammer, LotR), and due to existing licenses I don't think that will change for those in a while. And I feel like both the licenser and licensee probably prefer to start small to gauge reception. Going big and...
