Oh well... Too late... Consider my experiment a charitable donation, then.

If you go to your profile and select the "Statistics" tab, you'll see a little section labeled "Currency" that displays the number of gold pieces you currently possess. That number is a hyperlink that will pop up a box that apparently allows you to purchase 5 points for $1 (either for yourself...

Man, in that case, I've probably got a pretty big shindig going on in my back yard, and I didn't know about it...

Furthermore, when you purchase a new item, it shows up on the left side of your gear box, and everything shifts one space to the right. If you already have five items, whichever item is on the far right disappears. In other words, any one can hire a gang of vagrants to figuratively break into...

So, it looks like you can BUY more than 5 of any item, but can't OWN more than 5 items total. The adventurer's outfit you gave me as a gift kicked one of my vagrants out of the party. I guess he'll just have to sleep it off on the front lawn.

Heh... I was thinking the same thing. Only, it's too bad you can't buy more of the little buggers. I was hoping to throw a party, but it's kind of pathetic when only five people off the street show up.

Points of Light - replacement for random encounters

Why not? Essentially, it sets up regional random encounter lists (the rosters) with fuzzy population limits for the region (the population thresholds), and adds in triggered consequences for depleting the monster population. The only thing it doesn't do is provide a means to determine how and...

    The Space Pirate's Code

Not quite. The punctuation and pronouns are a little funky, and that confuses it a bit. Here's what it means... IV. If any time we shall meet another Marooner that Man shall sign his Articles without the Consent of our Company, shall suffer such Punishment as the Captain and Company shall...

7th Sea in the Real World

The basic mechanic works like so: You get a certain number of dice to roll, and you get to keep the results of some of them to add up. If the total is greater than the target number, you succeed. Generally, you roll your skill and keep your ability. For example, "5k3" means you get to roll 5...

    I need help with a Dark Sun/War of the Worlds/Barsoom kit-bash...

No, I'm thinking partially of the cartoon (which, while a little heavier on the sci-fi, does have the sort fantasy/sci-fi fix I'm looking for), but more of the original mini-comics, which had a little bit different concept and background than the later version of Eternia... The original concept...

    I need help with a Dark Sun/War of the Worlds/Barsoom kit-bash...

Sure, but to a large degree, that's what Dark Sun already is... Reskinned D&D with a few fresh bits thrown in. Mechanics and rules-wise, I don't want to stray too far from that. Partially, because it's what my players want and are used to, and partially because I'm an inherently lazy DM that...

    I need help with a Dark Sun/War of the Worlds/Barsoom kit-bash...

No, not really... My plan was that the Wellsians didn't stick around. They came, plundered Mars and Earth into wastelands to repair, refuel and restock their interstellar ship, and then left. To a large degree, that will inform many of the other "secrets" behind the setting... Why doesn't...

    I need help with a Dark Sun/War of the Worlds/Barsoom kit-bash...

I'm planning ahead for a Dark Sun campaign, but I'm going to mix it up a little. The basic concept is that Athas is a far future post-apocalyptic Earth. The War of the Worlds actually happened, and we lost... Wells' "Martians" first invade Burroughs' Barsoom, enslaving them and laying waste...

Need advice making a great thief :)

One other possible suggestion... Ever-Fading Armor effectively makes any invisibility effect sustainable with by using your Standard actions. It's great for long-term out-of-combat invisible stealthiness.

D&D 5E (2014) What Should My Next Character Be?

That's pretty close to what I'm playing right now... A standard human Wizard focused on Illusions and Charms, using some Essentials material, but not the Mage class. We're up at level 13, and he's a blast. Very heavy on control through conditions, I've focused on de-buffing saving throws, and...

Hey! You got a quibble in my prophecy!

I've always wanted to try using a "20/20 Hindsight Prophecy"... In which there is a prophecy, and perhaps the PCs know that there is a prophecy, but they don't necessarily know what the prophecy says. I'd let the PCs play through a large chunk of the campaign, and then reveal the prophecy to...

    Pirates

The Aubrey-Maturin series by Patrick O'Brien is another nautical historical fiction series set during the Napoleonic wars. The movie Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World with Russel Crowe and Paul Bettany was based on the series. In particular, in one book, The Letter of Marque...

Best use of rituals you have seen so far?

I've considered allowing players to "rush" rituals... The time for completing it goes down by one "category" -- Hours >> Minutes >> Rounds -- but the character must complete a skill challenge with a level equal to that of the ritual to complete the rush job. Once the challenge is complete, you...

Best use of rituals you have seen so far?

This one came in handy in a totally unexpected fashion last last night... We were tailing a small army of marauding giants and ogres, hoping to finding their base camp. Just before we set out, I cast the Traveler's Camouflage ritual, only I had a slip of the tongue, and it came out "Cameler's...
