    Advanced Race Guide: Featured Races

Huh. Interesting point. I had always thought they were Humanoid (Genasi) [Element]. Being native Outsiders is mostly useful, occasionally a pain. To be honest, this will likely be the first Pathfinder hardcover rules-oriented book I don't buy. We don't use oddball races much and I'm happy with...

    Advanced Race Guide: Featured Races

Oreads are humans with elemental earth traits. In 3.5 they were called earth genasi. Same thing.

    The Hobbit Trailer

EEeeeeeh! So glad to be seeing this. I had a hard time identifying a lot of this - seems they're changing any number of things around. Galadriel appearing at all is a big departure, presumably she's involved in Gandalf's side stuff with the Necromancer in the south of Mirkwood? It looked like...

    Pathfinder 1E Eberron Pathfinder

I stole a number of Eberron elements for my homebrew setting. The biggest conversion I did was the artificer, which I remade along the lines of Pathfinder's class design methodology. If you're interested, check it out. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2669279/Artificer.pdf

Do you track the date? The phases of the moon? The weather? Holidays?

I did for my last campaign, a Deadlands game. It started in the fall and the PCs had to stop the Big Bad before he was able to complete a ceremony on the winter solstice. This meant they couldn't travel back and forth a lot or hike off to find help - they were on a timeline. I even threw in a...

    List of good potions

Heh, yeah. That was essentially my plan. The list I posted was the ones I planned on starting with from my starting money.

    List of good potions

Yeah, it was Alchemical Allocation. Couldn't remember the name.

    List of good potions

At one point I wrote up an Alchemist who used a power that let him expend a spell slot instead of a potion. He had a bunch of utility potions he carried. Lesser Restoration Spider Climb Touch of the Sea Fly Resist Energy Water Breathing Weapon of Awe Oil of Stone Shape Feather Step Oil of...

    Question about Burning Hands

I would take that "normally" to mean "unless the spell mentions setting creatures on fire, it doesn't." It's not a normal feature of all fire spells, just a specific subset of them.

    Bounty Hunter Ranger Archetype

I considered a number of other things for the class, most of which you bring up (nonlethal damage, scrying, ability to focus on a target with just their name). In the end, I wanted a simple archetype, not something that replaces a large portion of class features. The basic ranger is already...

    Bounty Hunter Ranger Archetype

I'm in the process of writing up a bounty hunter character, and was surprised to discover that there wasn't an archetype focused on this kind of thing. Input is, as always, welcome. Quarry Bond (Ex): At 4th level, rather than forming a bond with an animal companion or his allies, the bounty...

What are your favorite changes in Pathfinder over 3.X?

I love classes built with a bunch of internal options, allowing you build many different characters with the same classes. Rogue talents, rage powers, alchemist discoveries, etc. Great mechanic.

    Giving Bard Disable Device

Do you guys use the trait rules? That has the best precedent for adding a new class skill - a number of traits do that.

    Giving Bard Disable Device

The archeologist bard archetype is exactly what you want. It's from Ultimate Combat. Hat not included, but barely. http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/bard/archetypes/paizo---bard-archetypes/archaeologist

    Multiclassing question..

Interesting. I was under the impression that it was generally assumed to be a wasted benefit, since you already have the feat. I know I've seen instances where the reverse is explicitly called out - something along the lines of "if you already have this feat, select another feat". I was under...

    Bard archetype/variant without arcane spells

Presumably he wants to maintain the utility of the class. A bard without spells loses a lot of power.

Magic Item Creation For Non-Int Focused Classes

I'm not sure I see the need. The Spellcraft DCs are quite low, and crafting is a powerful ability anyway if used well. You can take 10 on the roll, too, since any circumstance that would prevent you from doing so would prevent you from making items as well. DC 5 + caster level just isn't that...

How do I make tiny animated dolls super creepy?

Well that's frustrating. It's hard enough to create the right mood for a horror game that you're trying tomake legitimately spooky. Booze isn't going to mix well with those efforts. Wonder if it'd be better next year to do a booze-free horror game or a beer-soaked hammy B-movie kind of game...

How do I make tiny animated dolls super creepy?

If they're smart enough, a few lieutenants with 2 rogue levels and the Cunning Trigger rogue talent for traps might be entertaining. Luring the PCs into snare traps at critical points seems like it might fit.
