Prepping for the hardcover compilation - errors, edits, and suggestions?

I'm currently on Adventure 8, and I agree that I'd like a few more maps, more than anything. An overview map of Methia would be especially useful, for the infiltration scenes. I agree with a battle map for the tower base, too. I'd have also liked an encounter map for Resal, for the Bleak Golem...

Teasers for Adventure Twelve - The Grinding Gears of Heaven

I am so stoked. We are a bit less than midway through Diaspora (4e version) and my players are hooked. Thanks for keeping it up, guys; this is the best series of adventures I've seen.

The Day Has Come! It's An OGL! And A Store To Buy & Sell D&D 5E Products!

I confess, I didn't think we'd see the day. Good job, WotC.

Sword Coast Legends free to play for the weekend on Steam

Free weekends will be no help. It means you want the game to sell itself, basically. I ended up uninstalling my complimentary copy. I have too little time to waste playing sub-par games.

SCL: Stumbled coming out of the gate or simply fallen on it's face?

Not to mention a diminishing chance we'll ever see a better game. I mean, this one making no money is an argument against a bigger budget.

    ZEITGEIST Zeitgeist epic destinies?

Oh that's very nice. Really flavorful.

    ZEITGEIST Zeitgeist epic destinies?

Has anyone put together a list of particularly "Zeitgeist-y" epic destinies for 4e? The paragon paths are all so flavorful and wonderfully designed, I'd like to at least reskin existing ones.

SCL: Stumbled coming out of the gate or simply fallen on it's face?

So a friend of mine got a free gift key as a mea-culpa-slash-attempt-to-expand thing. He gave it to me, and it's so far failed to catch my interest. But if you see install numbers going up, this is likely why. They're literally giving it away already.

Comparing WotC's D&D Conversion Guides With Fan Created Alternatives

The variance column is kinda shady in the comparison. You should be using the absolute value of the differences rather than taking +/- into account. By not doing so, you're effectively rigging the results since it's just a matter of finding the right monsters that the totals add up to close to...

D&D 5E (2014) who put baby in the corner?

Wow. I dropped by because I haven't checked in on ENW in a while. And holy crap, now there's a ghetto forum for Warlord stuff just like there was for damage on a miss? I hate this place.

[UPDATED] WotC To Close Forums - Including D&D and M:tG (aka "Welcome New Forum Members to EN World!

But no, seriously, guys, there's no trouble at all over at WotC.

Sorry, man - been busy. :)

    D&D 5E (2014) What is/should be the Ranger's "thing"?

When the Exploration mini-game basically died, maybe the Ranger should have gone with it... But let's work with it anyway. The core idea, and the Robin Hood and Aragorn types, resonate well. It's a more obvious class candidate than Sorcerers or Warlocks, imo. But it needs to be more than...

New D&D Survey: What Do you Want From Older Editions?

Yep, but generally less impactful than themes, except for some OP ones. They are also closely tied to class.

New D&D Survey: What Do you Want From Older Editions?

It depends. :) Largely, they're minor subclasses. Most kits - the baseline - required you to use some weapon proficiency slots in certain ways, and provided a few nonweapon proficiencies and other benefits in exchange. As 2e got older, kits got crazier, culminating in The Complete Book of...

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlording the fighter

Drop hit dice to d8 to line up with cleric. Drop armor down to, probably, medium and maybe no shields. Core class features include some form of manipulation of the action economy - granting attacks and/or movement to allies. Something similar to bardic inspiration, maybe, but with a specific...

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlording the fighter

Sure, if you ignore everything said in this thread and put words into people's mouths, and if you're bound and determined to call stuff you disagree with "edition warring" I suppose that would be the logical conclusion. [emoji38] Tony gave a big rundown of why the Fighter won't work. Its core...

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlording the fighter

Um. Everyone's clearly stating why all of the "just use an X in 5e" suggestions were rejected, and myself and others have floated ideas about what a Warlord should include. So I don't know what thread you've been reading.

D&D 5E (2014) So what's exactly wrong with the fighter?

Well, I know that one of the hallmarks of caster characters in AD&D is how they never, ever attempt to use a spell creatively or outside of its 'label' usage.

New D&D Survey: What Do you Want From Older Editions?

Those fortune cards they came out with for 4e came and went like a fart in a monsoon. Nearly every table, including mine, shook our heads and ignored them. I hear some tables liked them though, so more power to them, and no skin off my nose. So if that counts as a test case or evidence... There...
