    OD&D [BECMI/BX] Natural healing?

I handle it as the book says.

D&D General Do you allow "crossplaying" at your table? Has it ever caused problems?

My answer: "Why is that even a question? Play whatever you want!" I don't play with people that would cause problems over something like that, or anything else really.

D&D 5E (2014) How to have a constructive conversation with players?

I have gone back to the old short modules from BECMI. So much better. Feels like a real campaign again vs these "adventure paths."

D&D 5E (2014) How to have a constructive conversation with players?

I gave up on the WotC adventure books after Storm King's Thunder. We had played them all up to that point but I just couldn't take it anymore. They're boring and predictable and basically all follow the same formula. It's probably nothing specific to this book, you're most likely just bored of...

D&D 5E (2014) Sometimes, the dice gods let one roll determine the outcome of an entire campaign

Faulty logic. If you had failed that and had combat, there would have been probably dozens of more rolls. The final roll that killed them or TPKed you would have then been the final roll. All campaigns have a "final" die roll.

    D&D 5E (2014) How fantastic are natural 1's?

This has nothing to do with multiple attacks. Melee combat is dangerous. Swords flinging around is risky no matter how skilled you are, especially when the opponent is equally skilled. It is clearly much safer to be far back with a bow or nothing at all.

    D&D 5E (2014) How fantastic are natural 1's?

A 20th level fighter is assumed to be fighting appropriately skilled foes, so the odds of a fumble don't change.

    D&D 5E (2014) How fantastic are natural 1's?

Really? Wow, thanks for that explanation.

    D&D 5E (2014) How fantastic are natural 1's?

I've always found this argument to be rather lame. Being in melee and swinging swords around is obviously going to lead to more mishaps than standing in the back not swinging a sword.

D&D General Which edition had the deadliest dragons?*

BECMI Or you don't know what you're talking about.

    D&D General Mystra vs. Mystara

    Has anyone ever confused these?

    D&D 5E (2014) Assumptions about character creation

I've heard that too, but it's complete nonsense. They absolutely do expect magic items. There's even a chart somewhere, in DMG I think, that shows how many they expect PCs to have got by tier.

    D&D 5E (2014) Assumptions about character creation

Bounded accuracy = shrinking the number range so weak monsters stay viable longer and rules breaking happens a bit less. In other words, WOTC's way of "fixing" D&D.

    D&D 5E (2014) Assumptions about character creation

Once, a friend and I were making characters for a one shot con game. He flipped out when I put a 13 in my prime stat. "I won't play with you if you do that!"

    D&D 5E (2014) Assumptions about character creation

Hardly anyone actually rolls anymore, and if they do, they keep rerolling until they get what they want. Anytime I suggest rolling, people just stare like I'm insane. Then bitch when I don't let them reroll 1s or reroll all 6 or whatever. It's shameful. It is most definitely less lethal than...

D&D 5E (2014) Potion of Climbing, Do you Need to Use Your Hands?

You don't need an exhaustive list, just go with what seems reasonable that you could do with just one hand.

D&D 5E (2014) Potion of Climbing, Do you Need to Use Your Hands?

D&D 5E (2014) Potion of Climbing, Do you Need to Use Your Hands?

You still have to climb. It doesn't turn you into Spiderman.

D&D 5E (2014) One player Dungeon crawl: Tips, helpful PDFs?

There are at least a couple old TSR era modules for a solo player. Actual solo, no sidekicks or hirelings. Dungeon crawls are best at low levels, so don't skip levels. Start at 1st level especially if the player is going to have to control multiple sidekicks and hirelings. Otherwise you don't...

D&D 5E (2014) What changes or retcons would you approve in a reboot?

They've never had a problem randomly changing things before without rebooting.
