WotC's Chris Perkins Talks Realms & Sundering

I think WOTC has gotten the message that fans are sick of the RSE treadmill. The question still remains what are they doing in 5E? If they realize that they messed up with 4E and need to reach out to fans...what are they doing? Right now, the Realms are only being used as a setting for a...

WotC's Chris Perkins Talks Realms & Sundering

I'm still really confused and after waiting since the Sundering and advent of 5E for WOTC to talk about the Realms.....I'm fed up with the silence enough to just walk away for a while. I love 5E and think htey have done an OUSTANDING job with writing and presenting the rules. They are doing...

    D&D 5E (2014) Neverwinter 5e

Interesting thread guys. I liked both the Neverwinter game and the campaign sourcebook myself. If the initial 4E FR campaign setting had been more like the Neverwinter one I think people would have had a whole lot less problems with it.

D&D 5E (2014) Amazon and the DMG: What's the story?

I finally got mine two days ago and guess what: wavy paper and dented spine.

WotC's Chris Perkins Talks Realms & Sundering

I hope WOTC can find it within themselves to do right by the Realms and by the fans, new and old.

    The new Hobbit movie

Based upon the other 2, I'm not sure I'm even going to see the 3rd in the theater. I may cave in and see it....

D&D 5E (2014) DMG - prepare the hot pokers for Amazon!

I've had the same thing happen with my DMG from Amazon (ordered the 10th). The latest ETA I had was the 20th so when that came and went I called them. They couldn't (or wouldn't) tell me what was going on. Very frustrating.

WotC's Chris Perkins Talks Realms & Sundering

Sanishiver, I think the info you asked scrivener about was in an episode of the Tome Show podcast that featured an interview with Steve Winter. That's where I recall hearing the info. It's been months and months now but I think I'm remembering that correctly.... around episode 238 if the...

WotC's Chris Perkins Talks Realms & Sundering

Sanishiver, what you said makes sense. How does the Sundering fit in then? Ed and Bob actually said that the Sundering would be fixing the Realms and returning it to a state that felt to them like the early days of the setting. And they said it would be done for Realms fans, old, young...

WotC's Chris Perkins Talks Realms & Sundering

I think you may be on to something Aramis. It kinda looks that way. If Organized play is in the Driver's Seat though, they need to clarify this with the fans because alot of people are still under the impression that novels and rpg sourcebooks are how the Realms are shaped.

dd.stevenson: Maybe I've been reading different WOTC stuff than you becuase I've read stuff from them stressing the new Edition. They've barely talked about the Realms in what I've read.....

D&D 5E (2014) What Campaign Setting(s) Do You Want To See in 5E?

Speaking in broad strokes, in general, I'm curious about those old settings that are the most different from the vanilla D&D experience, stuff like Dark Sun, Ravenloft, or Spelljammer. And I'd be really interested in seeing what the 5E team would do with a new, hopefully, creative and...

WotC's Chris Perkins Talks Realms & Sundering

Another thing that has me confused about 5E is how WOTC can have open, honest communication about the game during development but they can't be bothered to talk about the Realms.

    D&D 5E (2014) Halflings Of The Corn

For the most part, I really like the 5E art but I agree with you guys that alot of the halfling art looks horrible.

WotC's Chris Perkins Talks Realms & Sundering

What about new fans? Or lapsed fans wanting to come back to the Realms? The issue isn't old material. Players and Dungeon Masters have that available to them, or course. What about the 5E Realms? The 5E Realms exists right now as a Pantheon in the Player's Handbook and some setting...

D&D 5E (2014) What is WotC working on now?

Core rulebooks are out, what's next? Now that the main 3 rulebooks are out, what's next for D&D? How do they plan to support the rules going forward? What's going on with the novels? What's going on with the campaign settings? What's going on with Dungeon and Dragon mags?

WotC's Chris Perkins Talks Realms & Sundering

I'm glad they realize they messed up and lost the fans' faith in their stewardship of the Realms. What are they doing to restore our confidence? If they want us to tell them what we like about the Realms and then they focus on that...how is that supposed to work? How are they going to elicit...

WotC's Chris Perkins Talks Realms & Sundering

I'm still confused by the Sundering..why do a big event to fix the Realms and then not provide any details about it beyond the sketchy details in the novels? Bob Salvatore and Ed Greenwood have said that it's exciting writing for the realms again and they are reminded of the Realm's early days...
