D&D 5E (2014) Upcoming D&D Tidbits: Phandelver, Book of Many Things, Venger, & More!

I am sure the move to add cards to the Deck of Many Things has zero to do with Etsy or similar kickstarted versions. Maybe after a couple decades it could use a refresh and expansion.

D&D 5E (2014) Upcoming D&D Tidbits: Phandelver, Book of Many Things, Venger, & More!

My group found Lost Mines incredibly average. It was fine but there was nothing particularly interesting or noteworthy about it. Felt like adventures I homebrewed as a teen.

    D&D Movie/TV D&D Movie Hit or Flop?

The movie will end up at minimum to be a modest success. If paramount feels there is an opportunity to grow the brand and its recognition then they may make another. Time will tell.

ToV Project Black Flag Reveal Its Official Title: 'Tales of the Valiant'!

I tend to agree. I don’t think it was effect the Kickstarter but sitting with a pile of other books at a local hobby store there is nothing about that name that will entice anyone to pick it up. Sounds like a YA book or anthology of some part. However I don’t think staying with Black Flag...

ToV Project Black Flag Reveal Its Official Title: 'Tales of the Valiant'!

I loved almost all KP books especially the monster books, Midgard world book and the adventures . But I agree if one area was a weak link it was some of the subclasses. I generally found them too weak, too powerful or just very niche. I do think this KS will do very well because they are a...

ToV Project Black Flag Reveal Its Official Title: 'Tales of the Valiant'!

This will w the 1st KP Kickstarter I haven’t backed in like 7 years. I just don’t se how I can combine this with the current 5E and the 50th anniversary changes. It would be too complicated. I think 5E and the 50th anniversary changes will be challenging enough to use together.

    D&D General D&D Creator Summit--VTT & One D&D

I agree. Making things even just to do that is dumb. I would rather have the full treatment of wizard and cleric subclasses then remove them to shove in things like the Dance Bard.

    D&D General D&D Creator Summit--VTT & One D&D

Just because a question was submitted in advance doesn’t mean they have the answer yet. I suspect some things as it relates to monetization both by WoTC and for 3PP on DND Beyond and the VTT are not known yet.

    D&D General D&D Creator Summit--VTT & One D&D

Yeah I suspect mismatched expectations. Attendees thought conversation of equals. WoTC is probably open to conversation to an extent but yeah if you invite internet celebrities and streamers it is probably a promotional event.

    D&D General D&D Creator Summit--VTT & One D&D

And the creators leverage WoTC and D&D for their own benefit as well. If D&D sold like Rifts the creators wouldn’t talk about it, stream it or live play it for their fans. This is a symbiotic relationship. The OGL debacle wasn't WoTC plan to harm internet streamers and for some of the...

Another Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Review

I liked the movie a lot but I do think the pacing was off a little. It would have benefitted from a little more action and a tiny bit less narrative side tracks like Holga’s halfling love story which was silly at best.

    D&D General D&D Creator Summit--VTT & One D&D

Me neither. I think it is kind of presumptive. The thought that being a YouTube personality or streamer entitled them to have WoTC protect them? Provide Mental Health services? How would they even do that. I obviously don’t condone people threatening them or treating them poorly but I don’t...

Another Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Review

I disagree. It was taken out of context with people who had an agenda. If you read the whole article they were quoted in, you can see how they like to make male leads less the super hero/savior.

WotC WotC Creator Summit questions for ENWorld folks to ask.

Me too. Love the OAR series. Was hoping for a treatment of the Palace of the Silver Princess with its interesting history.

D&D General Kobold Press Going Down a Dark Road

Makes sense especially with the movie about to drop. If I were then I might even offer 60 days free to get people hooked. But I am not on D&D Beyond and don’t have any plans to join. I am a print guy but I don’t have any issue with them drawing other people into D&D Beyond.

D&D General Kobold Press Going Down a Dark Road

I think WoTC will try and encourage people to move digital. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some deals etc to get people to join D&D beyond but I am equally certain they are not going to abandon print.

D&D General Kobold Press Going Down a Dark Road

Marc I have a lot of respect for you and will take you at your word but I also think that is an incredibly imprecise and sloppy FAQ which is a little surprising from a publishing company.

D&D General Kobold Press Going Down a Dark Road

I think you are right. They are literally saying 5e books will be going away which is correct. However the insinuation of indicating people won’t be able to play face to face is they are moving D&D digital. It may just be sloppy writing but may not.
