I was going to back it until they stripped all the 5E stats out. The 5E conversion pdf is kind of a lame middle ground to me.

None of the options really fit. I am not excited but I am not meh. I am interested to see how things look in the end and I am not too concerned with playtests since the purpose is to get feedback. Ultimately t it will be just like 5e for me. I am sure I will buy some things I like and avoid...

Thanks for the interview. This really does sound awesome. My players tend to not care for classes that are too unique. Ran into this problem when we played Lost Citadel for a little while. Is it possible to make certain subclasses from D&D work with this setting?

Me too. My group mixed 1e and 2e together will no trouble at all.

I think that is the crux of it. A lot of changes would be needed to make it palatable and then most die hard DS fans wouldn’t even like or buy it. New players have no attachment to the setting so I am not sure who the market would be for a heavily revised Dark Sun.

Thank you for making my point. Like I said people will remember hence us mentioning it here and they won’t care evidenced by Paizo’s books selling out during the OGL fiasco.

I kind of disagree. Yeah most people will remember but most won’t care unless new things bring it to the forefront. A year or two ago Paizo was accused of a hostile working conditions and now they are the poster boys for people discontented with WoTC.

What does one have to do with the other?
