Yeah but how would that really be compatible with 5E other than in the loosest sense? That would pretty much ensure I stop supporting KP. I am not sure my definition of backwards compatibility is what you or other designers have in mind.

That would be very interesting. If you do please share how it goes. I really want to see how all these 5e derivatives flow together to decide what I will be supporting when OneD&D comes out.

There is some correlation between sales and quality. But also price and sales which is where McDonalds comes in. Depends on the consumer, product, etc.

It is clear to me that some people find this incredibly personal which of course they shouldn’t. WoTC clearly screwed up but I also think a lot of people on these forums were holding them on a pedestal of some sort that no corporation could ever live up to long term.

I can hear how much this pains you. I have played D&D since the mid eighties so the game is quite special to me. I think there is a way to love D&D, keep playing it and enjoy the community and ignore all the other. Hope you find your way there. There are actors I dislike personally but...

Me too. Sounds kind of cool. I think it speaks to no matter what they do someone is upset. If they use the same old things people are unhappy. Try something new and innovative and some people are unhappy.

I do recall this but I wonder if it has backfired to an extent with companies such as Kobold Press taking some of their customers. Customers looking for new settings etc.

I love this post probably because I feel much the same way. 5E is insanely fun to play for me and my group but so much WoTC material feels half done. So conservative that their material lacks flavor and innovation.
