WotC WotC Removes Digital Content Team Credits From D&D Beyond

I wish you were right but being on these forums long enough I think it is quite the opposite. I think a lot of people live to make these judgements.

WotC WotC Removes Digital Content Team Credits From D&D Beyond

For one they do a lot more than donate books. But really it doesn’t matter. People come here with their pitchforks ready. For a lot of people on these forums their beef with WoTC goes way beyond their recent actions and is a historical dislike of a corporation running their game and for...

WotC WotC Removes Digital Content Team Credits From D&D Beyond

So true. And people can be spiteful. There are a lot of potential reasons. Obviously you didn’t read what I wrote. I don’t mind the criticism in fact down thread I also expressed disappointment. It’s the hyperbole and constant negativity on these threads that just gets exhausting. It’s the...

Wow. Pretty big leap for this thread.

They should but I generally think you missed my larger point.

WotC WotC Removes Digital Content Team Credits From D&D Beyond

Nope. When is the last time you looked at the Hasbro Foundation website or reviewed some of their other charity work? Never? Because that wouldn’t fit with your narrative. They are a large corporation. Both good at times and bad at times. Often at the same time. I am at a place in life I...

WotC WotC Removes Digital Content Team Credits From D&D Beyond

I think this is a pretty hyperbolic take. WoTC draws an inordinate amount of scrutiny as the largest TTRPG company but many companies in this hobby are just as bad or worse at times. Not to mention that these threads always focus on the negative and omit the positive things the company has...

WotC WotC Removes Digital Content Team Credits From D&D Beyond

That’s an interesting distinction if true. I certainly think there is a difference between creating the content and formatting the content for a digital platform. They are both valuable but do website design/layout people usually get credited? I don’t know, no judgement, just wondering.

WotC WotC Removes Digital Content Team Credits From D&D Beyond

Yeah maybe. It is really hard to understand these type of decisions. Perhaps ignorance. I am hoping WoTC changes course or at least comments. I would be interested to hear what the rationale is. People do bizarre even dumb things all the time and for me it is interesting to see how they got...

RPG Crowdfunding News - Moonsoon, Traveller, Berserkr, and more

Interesting. I felt the opposite. I think the whole Kickstarter is super light on details about the setting. I couldn’t even really tell what the premise is so I lost interest. Feels unfocused to me.

    D&D 5E (2024) New Jeremy Crawford Interviews

Yes. And if we are being honest it has been a long time since describing a race as ‘half’ anything has been appropriate.

D&D 5E (2024) What is your oppinion of 5.24 so far?

Agreed. I do not recall them saying that. Believe me I wish they had. One of my few dislikes of 5E is the Warlock build and short rests in general but I don’t recall them saying they were looking at replacing short rest across the board.

D&D 5E (2024) What is your oppinion of 5.24 so far?

I think some of the comments they made about making the game more difficult for the DM were made tongue in cheek. I disagree. I am a DM and I just don’t see these as big deal. Having DMed 4 editions of D&D during my life time and various other games a lot is being made of nothing.

WotC D&D Historian Ben Riggs says the OGL fiasco was Chris Cocks idea.

Yeah feels like he is leaning into sensationalism.

WotC D&D Historian Ben Riggs says the OGL fiasco was Chris Cocks idea.

I don’t know if the Golden Age is over but I think there will be a decline. Not necessarily for the reasons he states but I think RPGs have probably peaked for the time being. The record popularity/sales were due to a lot of factors that weren’t going to last forever. I will also note my...

D&D 5E (2024) What is your oppinion of 5.24 so far?

I see power creep as a relative thing. If monsters/adversaries also experienced a bump it isn’t so much of an increase to me but adding more versatility and abilities which I generally like. I love 1st and 2nd edition and still play them from time to time but classes got boring quickly due...

Kobold Press: An Interview with Wolfgang Baur

I love Midgard and the lack of recent support is pretty disappointing. While I have no interest in ToV I understand what they are doing. But I don’t really get the focus on the Campaign Builders series over Midgard. There are literally dozens of others products similar to the campaign builders...

Do any other old school gamers hate the term grognard?

I don’t care one way or the other. I kind of think it makes the user seem a little pretentious though I may have used it to describe myself once or twice 😀
