    silver wood

Will Silversheen affect a club? Silversheen says and alchemical silver says But does Silversheen do a material check before taking effect or does it just take effect regardless (being magic and all that)? I would be inclined to think not, except that it would have been trivially easy to put...

    What does spell storing remember?

Yes, I do not know the any SRD web adressess. But all your base belong to me! :D Sorry, a player in my game asked me the questions and since I had just 12 hours earlier asked him to look things up before asking me, I had assumed he had looked it up before asking me. Obviously I should have...

    What does spell storing remember?

Can one place an Empowered Fireball into a Ring of Spell Storing (or does the "empowered" bit go away)? If you can, does it take the space of a 3rd level spell, or a 5th level spell? I'm more interested in rules references than opinions, as I already have an opinion and it will take something...

    Battlestar Galactica d20 Future

Could I get a pointer to that quote? It's fairly important for getting the setting right (at least for characters left behind by the rag-tag fleet).

    Torches and Lanterns

If it looks like a regular flame and is equivalent in brightness to a torch, I don't think I'm going out on a limb to think it looks like a regular torch. If we're going to argue everything that the spell description DOESN'T say, we're in for a long discussion.

    Torches and Lanterns

It is strange that they would go through the trouble to make an image of a fire that guttered and flickered like a torch (even though it uses no oxygen and is probably unaffected by airflow) when that cuts the light it casts by by 33%. :\ I'll try to find that Eberron thing if I can't find a...

    Torches and Lanterns

A torch sheds good light to 20 ft and a hooded lantern out to 30 feet. Why is that? Doesn't the lantern have a much smaller flame inside than a torch? I can sort of understand the bullseye lantern casting good light out to 60ft because it is using a mirror or some such to focus the beam. A...

Can anyone recommend a Sci-Fi/Future game?

As there are so many different settings and systems, a lot depends on what sort of sci-fi/space opera you'd like to run. The d20 Starwars game isn't too bad, and the new version of the system might be even better (especially for those coming in fresh). Some of my other favorites are (the...

    hit location systems?

I made up some hit location & grievous injury rules for my d20 StarWars game (which uses WP/VP). They are on page 15 of my House Rule doc: http://home.insightbb.com/~ki.ryn/Morningstar/Morningstar_Rules.pdf If you end up making your own system, that might give you some ideas. Best of luck.

    TPK Your Entire Party

This may not kill off the party, but it will certainly kill off the campaign. Good luck with your next group.

    Battlestar Galactica d20 Future

Are there any deckplans for the Galactica (or anyof the big ships) out there? The Galactica looks about 50 stories high in the main section but elevators, stairs, or any sort of people mover seem very absent. More so than I would expect on a 4500ft long ship. Anyway, if there are even vauge...

Reincarnate your way to a better halforc

The Reincarnate spell says to remove your racial adjustments and then apply the ones from the table (which only has STR, DEX, and CON). So if a halforc is reincarnated, he erases the STR bonus and INT and CHR penalties, then adds the STR bonus from the table. Doesn't this leave him 2 points...

    Scrolls and Armor

So hopping up and down on one foot, a virginal sacrafice, and a conjunction of the nine planets ARE required? You can't say somatic components are required just because the text says a couple of other things are not. That backward reference under spell activation items shows that you are right...

    Scrolls and Armor

My SRD says that you just need to read a scroll in order to activate it. That sounds like there is no somatic component. But then it says that reading a scroll is subject to arcane spell failure just like casting a spell. Does activating a scroll require a somatic component?

Qustion about the price of a certain sword

My theory is that the 1000gp covered the price of the saphires and so the mistake was using the word "Price" instead of "Cost". I've heard from others that the saphires could just be flavor text (covered by the cost of the enchantment). That sounds reasonable, but then the price/cost math...

Qustion about the price of a certain sword

And a follow-up question: Do swords have powers that aren't equivalent to +'s price-wise? I'm not sure how the price of the special weapons in the SRD we're figured out.

Qustion about the price of a certain sword

We recently found a pair of unique swords. Here is the description of the first: My question is about the "price". I suspect that it should be "cost" (the cost to make) rather than price (the market value). Since a plain +2 axiomatic sword is worth 32,000 gp. If each of those special...

    Warped Star Wars Minis Help

Just as another option, I've straightened some ships out by holding the bent area over a lightbulb and letting gravity and heat do the straightening. Followed by the usual ice water bath, it worked well enough. I like the precision of the hot spot over a bulb compared to the large heated area...

    D&D 3.x d20 3.5 Middle Earth

Thanks for the help all, it's given me some good places to start. I like the look of the Legends of Sorcery material in particular. As for time and place, I'm mainly looking for stuff that could apply in the late 2nd or anywhere in the 3rd age. This campaign will be generally in the north -...

    D&D 3.x d20 3.5 Middle Earth

I have a friend looking to run a Middle Earth game using the 3.5 D&D rules. I figure that we're probably the first people to ever think of this. But just in case the idea has occurred to someone else, I'd love to see what sort of modifications others made to the rule system to capture the flavor...
