    Why does WotC hate Macs?

Google Apps is currently deploying offline access, phasing it in over their account base. I just got it this week.... Will DDI support it?

    Why does WotC hate Macs?

The DDI VTT will have no interoperability with the system rules. They've ruled that out.

Who has paid the $5000 (what companies)?

Between the GSL, poor pre-release marketing, and all the problems with Gleemax, D&D Insider, and Dungeon and Dragon content I get the impression that WotC is screwing things up by the numbers. It's clear they bit off way more than they could chew.

    D&D 4E Heroforge plans for 4e

I'm guardedly happy about this. The one unfortunate quality of Heroforge for me is that it's Windows only. It doesn't work on OpenOffice.org, and doesn't work on Mac Office. Putting together a portable foundation could fix that, which would mean it would work on the computers I use. OTOH...

    Pathfinder 1E Pramas on Paizo

The longer I game, the more plausible I find that scenario. I mean, right now I've convinced a bunch of people to play Rules Cyclopedia for a long-running campaign, while we intersperse it with some 4e run by another person, and have a monthly 3.5e game run by someone else. Nobody balked...

Mass Effect - "the" Xbox360 title to get

I'm playing through the second time with an engineer. I'm enjoying the pistol. The accuracy kicks butt, and with marksman and the right ammo upgrades, cuts through enemies quickly. Loving the side quests too....

    Recommendations for external Hard Drives

I'd recommend a local backup, and an online service like Mozy or Jungledisk. They'll run automatically in the background so even if you forget to use the local backup, and it's offsite to protect against anything that might damage your computer and backup. (Like when my friend's plumbing...

D&D: Insider Tools - will they succeed?

FWIW: http://www.wizards.com/company/downloads/Announcing_Radiant_Machine_Entertainment.pdf New arm of a business consultancy doing game work. Their website does say it's composed of veterans from a number of game companies, but their management are from the business consultant side, and it's...

D&D: Insider Tools - will they succeed?

Software developer weighing in here. Since something like 70% of software projects fail initially, WotC has a poor track record at software, and the development team is a newly formed for this project arm of a business consultancy, yep, the initial releases of the DI are going to be fiascos...

A Technical Look at D&D Insider Applications

What browser do you use? With Mobile IE, I can't log into D&D Insider, though I can read the non-protected content.

Squinting at my #@!% DM Screen

You might also find adding some light to the situation would help things out. Maybe one of those little clip lights?

    Adapt or Perish!

You don't matter. You've already bought lots of books. You're a tapped out market. WotC needs to appeal to different people now. You wouldn't want them to waste their time with you and your spent wallet, would you?

Are you planning on participating in Worldwide D&D Gameday 2007?

My DM is getting married that day, and he won't let the wedding party attend for some reason.

Two Weeks and Counting -- November 2nd!

Once EN2 is up, it should be relatively easy for someone to put together a greasemonkey script for firefox to enable a dark theme for text. That'll be a usable stopgap until a supported skin appears.

Save the Goblin, Kill your Friend?

So, let's see if this sounds reasonable. Your patron has been hinting that Anea shouldn't necessarily be considered an enemy. And the party agrees (including you, apparently) that you'll all let her live and try to make an ally of her. Meanwhile, you show yourself to be a bloodthirsty...

Hey, something I just realized about races!

That's the same thing I like about it. I really liked how, esp with the Gazetteer series, basic D&D had real differences between races. Since they've got such completely different cultures and backgrounds, the idea that a fighter is a fighter is a fighter no matter what race always...

What will happen to 3.x errata for WotC books now?

I think they'll release them. Apparently, they've been spending time working on the errata, figuring out a process for releasing them, so they wouldn't want to waste that time. Nor would they want to engender the ill-feelings they'd get from announcing errata and reneging.

Should I even bother with 3E anymore?

Some corrections as far as I understand them. The Virtual Tabletop and the Character Builder/Visualizer will require DirectX. The Character Builder is an application which will help you create a 3d-model of your character, so you can use it as a mini in the VTT. They also mention some other...
