Holy Symbols: are they God-specific? Can they be altered?

someone put a "Holy Conversion" ritual into the EN Wiki. it was one of the first things. seems a great use for a Ritual and, since im of a mind we need more Rituals, that'd be the route id suggest you use. Wis

My players having more fun than me

Interesting post. I find your situation very surprising for two reasons: 1) You aren't having as much fun and yet your players are; normally when the DM isn't having fun, no one is. (Incidentally, that speaks very well of your DMing ability.) 2) You're the DM and aren't having fun. I...

Dragon 365: Codex of Betrayal, Beleth the Witch's Viscount

Great article, Ari. And now the inevitable rules-related question: For the assassin imp's sting, you specifically call out that ongoing "poison damage does not wake the target" or something to that effect. I'm not sure if there's been a ruling on this, but this call-out seems to imply that an...

met a gamer at the barber!

Just last weekend my wife's friend's husband came over with her and their kids. We were BBQing. One thing lead to another I found out he still plays Rolemaster (Claw Law, Spell Law, Arms Law, etc.) and has been for well over a decade. I didn't know people still played that. I certainly did in...

Sins of Our Fathers II - New Art Uploaded - 1/25

On 4e: I pretty much agree with all you said. Most of my group seems to very much enjoy it, but a couple guys are less certain. One of those "less certain" guys is one who really enjoyed wizards in 3e. Right now I think we're riding a wave of "ready for something new after dealing with mid- to...

Warlock's Curse: Applied per enemy per round, or just per round?

I think most would agree that if a warlock used an area power to do damage, for example, any cursed targets within the area would suffer the additional damage. The part that's not so clear, I think, is whether individual, cursed targets that take damage at different times from different sources...

Warlock's Curse: Applied per enemy per round, or just per round?

I agree with Nifft, but unfortunately "it seems most fair" is not a valid defense for the RAW. It is a valid reason to make a house rule, but I want to know what the RAW states first and then, perhaps, house rule as required. Zimri - please let us know if you get an answer. Thanks Wis

Is it safe to assume that this issue needs clarification from an official source?

Warlock's Curse: Applied per enemy per round, or just per round?

If I have multiple cursed targets, and I manage to damage all of them (with an Area power, for example), do they all take extra damage - or does just one of them. In other words, do I apply the extra damage once per round per enemy or once per round, period? WP

Against the Giants picture gallery is up!

I dunno, Ashrem, the paint scheme seems 100000X better than it was in the previous set. In fact, I'd venture to say the paint on these looks the best I've seen in any set. But I'm not a mini expert, so others can probably give a better comparison/analysis.

What about 4th edition made you go AHHHH this is D&D to me.

Ah, man, I like the whole treasure parcel idea. So much better/easier (IMO!) than a Character Wealth by Level approach.

What about 4th edition made you go AHHHH this is D&D to me.

At the risk of encouraging other posts like the one I quote, despite the plea from the OP, I must say: Earthdawn feels more D&Dish to me than 4e does as well, but 4e is growing on me. (And 4e is about fifty-seven times a better game.) I suspect this is normal. 3e didn't feel like D&D to me when...

How long does stuff last after death/collapse of an empire?

Hi all - I'm starting a new campaign wherein - surprise, surprise - some great, former civilization collapsed some time ago. The question I'm wrestling with is just how long ago it should have happened. I want some stuff around, but not everything. How long does a body last? I'm assuming...

"Let me 'spain. No, there's too much. Let me sum up." - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride (1) The 4e core books have significant errors related to editing or the lack thereof. (2) These errors are no different, no better, no worse, and - most importantly - no more acceptable than they were...
