    Player vs. Player-Campaign

Well, one thing you might want to check out is Reverse Dungeon, put out by WotC for 2nd ed. It has guidelines for players to set up their own dungeon inhabitants. As far as the player being reluctant, I would bring up the subject with him. Just don't spill all the secrets: "Well, Bob...

    Thri-kreen question

I'm with the Suicide Shorty. All that references is the DC's and other ability score based numbers.

    Magical Candies?

I second the motion of using Brew Potion as the requirement for magical candies. The (slim) advantage of holding it in your mouth for a few rounds is balanced by the fact that it would disrupt spellcasting, I'd think. Storywise, sounds like a great idea. Been reading Harry Potter lately, anyone?

    Plot Killer: Detect evil

While the paladin might be able to convince himself that an evil aura is proof, he will never be able to use it as proof in any society. Characters don't walk around with signs listing their class. There is nothing the paladin can do that another class cannot do. Laying on Hands? Silent...

[URBIS] The Circle of the Crumbling Towers - when druids and merchants meet

Wow. Lots of good stuff, there. I can even picture druid PCs trying to move in on the action. You've definately added a group to my campaign world...

Well, we're up to 5/10. Half way there.

That fixed it. Darn, I love these boards.

    Windows cannot find this file?!

So I looked at the regedit, but I can't find anything about shell or open. Anyone know whereabouts I can find these on XP?

    Windows cannot find this file?!

Nope, I'm an admin. I'm even having this problem when I click on user accounts, though, now that you mention it.

    Reasons a Squirrel can talk

"You've heard of the prince that was a frog, right? Yeah, that's me. Give me a kiss, sugar." "I was the familiar to a wizard at Redhurst. You've heard of them, right? Well, my wizard miscast some scroll, Magic Vase, or Jar, or something. When I woke up, I found I could talk, and my master...

    Windows cannot find this file?!

Alright, I'm having a problem with my pc, and was wondering if any guru's out there could help me out. Whenever I click on a exe or shortcut to an exe (say wordpad), my OS (XP) tells me it can't find the file. But if I click on a document, it will load it just fine. Also, if I right click the...

New Game. New Players. Core only?

I gotta back up everyone that's saying core, here. Besides, you can always add material, but trying to take material out of the game always ends up like giving a root canal to a 3 year old. Lots of kicking, screaming, and, if you have snacks at the table, food flying everywhere. At least...

    Limits on character creation: Opinions?

I don't apply to many limits until I find out what the players have in mind. The only thing I restrict is alignment: no evil, and no chaotic neutral. I find too many people that I've gamed with just use evil and cn as an excuse to disrupt the game. YMMV.

Arcane spellcasters (and spell lists) for a low-magic world

Here's some thoughts off the top of my head... 1. Get rid of all (or most) spells that have an obvious effect. Fireball, Lightning Bolt, etc. 2. Make summonings take a longer time to cast, with more of a cost... maybe 1-2 hp of damage per level of spell, kinda like a blood sacrifice. 3...

Can clerics collect x.p. as part of worship?

There's some great responses here. Thanks for the input. Pyrex, 1 xp/level sounds just about what I was looking for. That being said, how noticeable would the loss of xp be? And how often would the "thithe" be due? Hrrmmm, new thought: What of a priest who used the xp to "boost" his own...

    D&D 3.x Druids, bows, 3.5 and d20

Hmmmm. What race are you playing? Elf would give you proficiency with bows. Is multi-classing really out of the option? Failing that, why not make your own concept, similar to QD, that would allow you to use a bow? Or you could even ask your DM what he would want you to give up for a bow.

Can clerics collect x.p. as part of worship?

Good ideas, Nifft, especially about fasting. I'm really looking for something that would be doable more on a repetative basis, but how much xp do you think would be donated through those? And would it be a feat, magical item, or just an optional rule? Oh yeah, and "Arrgghhhh!"

    New Feat: Fate Casting

I have to agree with those above who say the feat doesn't grant enough of a bonus. If it represents the mage trying to channel more power than he is normally able, then maybe make the DC = 11 (or 12) + spell level + ability mod. That way, on average, they're getting a significant(sp) boost.

    Staff casters

I was wanting a way to emulate the Magister from AU, but just as an option for wizards to take. I was thinking of a feat or special rule that would give a small bonus, either to DC's or caster level, to any wizard who "stored" their prepared spells in a staff. This would leave them...

Can clerics collect x.p. as part of worship?

Hey, quick idea off the top of my head. What do you think about temples that "steal" xp from worshippers? I was thinking of an altar that would take 1 xp from each worshipper on holy days, allowing the priest to use that xp for item creation and or spells with an xp cost. If services were...
