D&D General Watch the Baldur's Gate 3 Cast Play 'What We Do In The Shadow-Cursed Lands'

Not sure where you're getting that from? Phandelver and Below was put out by WoTC just last year. The plot points and developments are quite similar and

Tanking is already a form of control. The ability to stop when movement to force it, just reinforces that.

And if you can get the Barbarian to large size, their MELEE range can increase to 30ft reach which is both effective and hilarious.

It moves an enemy away from a target you don't want them attacking and puts them next to a target that can take it. That's both control and tanking. Combining the two increases the utility of both.

Barbarians have good movement, from what I've seen 10 feet is plenty. Plus, the barbarian can move an ally to them from 30ft away if necessary.

Of course it does, it reduces an enemies speed to 0. That takes away many options for the enemy. Plus, the increased range (combined with say polearm master or sentinel) is huge. Between bonus actions and reactions the barbarian is holding multiple targets still. That's hard to come by in 5e...

Right. And let's not forget 2d6-4d6 extra HP to an ally, EVERY ROUND. Yes it's temp HP, but still. That's basically aura of vitality without concentration, just as bonus when you rage.

Grapple is even more common than it was before, this allows an easy escape from one. Easy spirit guardians abuse, if you're into that (either by teleporting an enemy or teleporting the cleric) Teleport positioning is just big. Especially unlimited and by tier 2. The point is it's...

D&D 5E (2024) Tier List. Barbarian Review and Ratings.

It's not just enemies. It also allows you to yank allies away from danger at a respectable 30ft range (or to just generally reposition), reducing movement to 0 is optional, so doesn't hamper allies. And it's not x times per day limited, that's also big. That ability kicks in at 6th level...

    (+) A.I in general

Yeah, I think there was a NJ attorney disbarred recently for submitting an AI brief where the cases turned out to be hallucinated. Every time I've played around with AI and legal questions it's been problematic. The AI cites cases that look on point, but once checked they're, more often than...

D&D 5E (2014) Setting up a Dungeons and Dragons Club at my Local Library

My opinion, best course of action is to pretend the "new sections" and the follow-up adventure just don't exist! I am REALLY not a fan of the follow-up and wish they had not gone in the direction they chose!

D&D 5E (2014) Setting up a Dungeons and Dragons Club at my Local Library

Of those Lost Mines is, IME, the most "new player" friendly - I'd start there. Plus it's a pretty good product so a good intro to 5e, in general.

Dungeons & Dragons Has Done Away With the Adventuring Day

Yes and no. It seems what's being discussed are degrees and what qualifies as communication vs. pushback/questioning.

Dungeons & Dragons Has Done Away With the Adventuring Day

It does come up though. Heck, just this last Sunday I accidentally messed up a fireball area of effect (my overlay had the size wrong and the radius was doubled) which would have caused it to hit 4 PCs instead of the 2 it should have. One of the players caught it, and I immediately corrected...

Dungeons & Dragons Has Done Away With the Adventuring Day

While true, IME, if a DM actually has to say something like this (because a player called them out), the situation is likely already lost. If this is likely to come up, better for the DM to front load the explanation "Hey all, this adventure may get a bit nontraditional and the rules may be...

    D&D 5E (2024) I have the DMG. AMA!

Magic Item resilience was a short paragraph in the 2014 DMG and wasn't even listed in the table of contents. It's listed in the 2024 one - is there any difference/new stuff added? Are Artifacts changed at all and if so, how?

Call of the Netherdeep was 2022, so not too long ago. I wonder if the the show still plugs DnD Beyond constantly, they used too but I haven't watched in a while.

Dungeons & Dragons Has Done Away With the Adventuring Day

If a player picks a rare or otherwise problematic race IMC, I'll let them do it, but I'll also let then know it will likely be an extra hassle for them. I'll let you play a Drow in my Greyhawk campaign, but you might seriously regret it!
