Thanks to Nerfwright, Mr. Wright, and your housemates for hosting, to Piratecat for running an exciting Night's Black Agents, and to Nerfwright, Bruce, and Saladshooter for trying my DC/Marvel mash-up game. Good seeing the rest of you again, and nice to meet the ones I hadn't before!

    Wizard/Mage help...

The Mage sub-class also picks encounters every day--the core PH1 Arcanist build just does the dailies and utilities.

Boston Game Day on 3/10/12: registration for games is open!

My game doesn't need much space, all the action resolution is handled through the cards, and we don't need a battlemap either. Title's been revised after finalizing pre-gens: "Blue Beetle and His Amazing Friends" Jaime Reyes -- Blue Beetle (has trouble controlling his alien power armor) Damian...

Please sign me up for PirateCat's game in the am. If it's full, then Umbran's game.

    Boston Pathfinder /3.5

Two things: Most importantly, nice avatar/screenname. Secondly, though I'm not looking to join another group and unfortunately mine's filled up at the moment, but I can put word out in my area that you're looking at get something started. Whereabouts are you located? I'm up in the North Shore...

PAX East: DM D&D for WotC, get a free badge and/or hotel room!

Hey PirateCat, I shot him an e-mail about it yesterday, haven't heard anything either. Was also from my Gmail, so the spam issue Lucek mentioned might be the issue...

Boston Game Day: March 10, 2012: GMs and games needed!

Mine's already posted above, I'm definitely good for the 10th, so if there's room for my DCU inspired Marvel Super-Heroes Adventure Game, I'll start hammering out the rest of the details.

Boston Game Day: March 10, 2012: GMs and games needed!

I'll hopefully be able to make it (I should know shortly). If so, I've got a one-shot scenario I've been cooking up for Marvel Super-Heroes Adventure Game (SAGA system), set in an alternate DCU future that also serves as the dawn of the era of Marvel heroes (i.e. crossover free for all). I'm...

    Constitution based knight?

Superior Fortitude is a decent one (Fort bonus and resistance to all ongoing damage). Swift Recovery and Toughness are decent too (though they're more HP catch-alls than specifically Con-based). You're still gonna have to dump a few points into Strength though, or your Battle Guardian will...

Please sign me up for "Red Shirts, Green Women" and "Cowboys & Globetrotters," with "Kingdom of the Blind" and "The Justifiers" as my respective back-ups. And Pseudonym, I'd like to throw my hat in the ring for "Ensign What's His Name."

What if 5e is a board game?

I could easily see D&D reverting to a Basic/Advanced split, but done effectively. Using the core of the system to set up a boardgame system similar to HeroQuest and the current D&D Adventure game as the Basic set to pull in new/casual players and board gamers, with expansions for those that want...

Back to the Future: The Game

There was actually a CBS cartoon in the early 90s that followed the continued adventures of Marty, Doc, Clara, and the kids. Each episode closed with a live action science experiment with Christopher Lloyd as Doc. One episode was loosely based on "A Sound of Thunder."

Boston Gameday May 21st - Directions posted

First, thanks again to PirateCat for hosting another exciting Boston Gameday. Also, thanks to FickleGM for running a hilariously inappropriate Torpedo of Truth themed game of Mutants and Masterminds, and to Umbran for stepping in for PrincessKeyBlade to run an intriguing game of Space 1889...

Boston Gameday May 21st - Directions posted

Curses to my procrastination. I'd be thrilled to snag one of the standby slots for Fickle GM's game in the AM, and I'll grab one of the open slots in PrincessKeyBlade's PM game.

    Design & Development - Necromancy & Nethermancy

Disrupt Undead really isn't that bad as a cantrip, on par with Ghost Sound, if not better in some ways. It's not a necromancy school feature, just a cantrip available to all wizards. The 1st level school feature will probably be more on par with the other schools. We haven't seen a preview of...

Hey Piratecat, if there's space in your Old School Hack game, I'd like to snag a spot. Otherwise, it all boils down to what the morning and afternoon schedules look like.
