    Input needed on a staff

Okay, so here it is: (still open to suggestions though) Balestaff This staff allows use of the following spells: Doomwail (1 charge) Grimwald's Greymantle (1 charge) Magic Jar (1 charge) Shadow Evocation (2 charges) Further, the staff may be used as a weapon, functioning as a Quarterstaff of...

    Input needed on a staff

If I wanted to be able to disappear my staff on command, what would you recommend? It can either be, sending it to an extradimensional space where I can call it back from on command, or somehow meld it into my body, and be able to unmeld it on command? Ideas? Calypso

    Input needed on a staff

Well, most of the staffs do have a theme, but the Staff of Power, for instance, has differing schools. Also, my character won't be making this, it's a gift from his great-grandfather. It will also be a Quarterstaff of Defending +2. Got any ideas for a cool secondary power, like the...

    Input needed on a staff

Well, so far I have the spells as above, and that staff acts as a Quarterstaff of Defending +2, and gives a +2 luck bonus to saves. But, I feel like for such an expensive staff, I should have a better spell selection.

    Another Anointed Knight Question

It's Anointed Knight class levels + Cha modifier. Otherwise, you could take the best anoint option at first level of anoin. knight (6 levels min., +5 cha = 11). Calypso

    Input needed on a staff

Hey guys, I'm working on designing a staff for my character, and I thought maybe you guys would have some good ideas. The character is a 13th level Sorcerer with the following spells: 1: Expeditious Retreat, Feather Fall, Magic Missile, Ray of Enfeeb., Shield 2: Cold Snap, Invis, Melf's...

    Prestige classes for druids.

I've never played them, but both Warshaper and Nature's Warrior (both from Complete Warrior) seem pretty decent. If you're more interested in wildshaping a lot and being a combatant, I might even say taking both of them could be cool. But if you want to retain a halway decent spellcasting...

    Vow Of Poverty?

If I can come up with a character with this feat that is significantly more powerful than a character whose main difference is that he doesn't have this feat (which I can), then something is wrong. If every monk and his brother want it, something is wrong. And, if it takes an entire page to...

Would you say the Dragon Wild Shape feat is a bit powerful?

I don't see it being a problem, as long as they can't assume a form with more HD than they have caster levels.

    Help needed in monster creation

Nah, CR 1 should be fine. It just means they'll consume more than 1/5ish of their resources.

    Vow Of Poverty?

Heh, could you abstract that up a bit for me? See, whereas Improved Toughness can be described in roughly 20 words, Vow of Poverty takes roughly a page.

    Vow Of Poverty?

I agree, VoP is well balanced and adds some depth, but it really should have been a prestige class. You'll note that it's the only feat that grants additional abilities as you gain levels. That sounds a lot like what a class is for... Plus, when I read VoP, I was still pretty underwhelmed by...

    Help needed in monster creation

..and use 1/5 of their resources. No, a characters ECL is the total of their racial level adjustment (Tieflings are +1 for instance), racial HD, and class levels. ECL is a characters "actual" level, in that, it's what you use to determine XP needed to level and so on. As to the question at...

    Vow Of Poverty?

If you want the specifics, you have to buy the book. Basically, you can't own anything of any value, period. In exchange, you get stat boosts, spell resistance, damage reduction, a new car, etc. It's silly, and should be a prestige class, seeing as it has different abilities at each level...

    Alternative to XP expenditure?

I would give each player a number of "Experience" points along with each level you give them. So, when they reach 2nd level, they each get 200xp. 300 at 2nd, and so forth. Or whatever amount. Then explain that the amount has no bearing on their level, it is just there for use with item...

    PCs using bluff on PCs

I think you need to have a heart-to-heart with your players, and tell them to drop the lousy metagaming.

    Demon Killer

Well, you can't really be a Succubus, seeing as they're demons. However, who has a vested interest in the demons NOT winning... why, the devils of course. So play an Erinyes :) Calypso

Where is this magic item from?

Sounds like a modification of the Bow of True Arrows. Or else, a Longbow +1 with Command Word 3/day of True Strike. I wouldn't use the actual price, which would be like 3200 gold or something. Calypso

    Build leading up to Archmage

A coworker was telling me how cool Incantatrix is at lunch today, so I came home and looked it up in Magic of Faerun and it wasn't very cool. So apparently there is a different version in the Players Guide to Faerun? I can pretty much mix and match from 3.0 and 3.5, whatever source books I...

    Build leading up to Archmage

Also, what high arcana should I take first? I was probably going to take Spell Power +2 first (I didn't read anywhere that you have to take them in order), and eventually have Spell Power +1/+2/+3, Arcane Reach, and either Arcane Fire or Spell-Like Ability. My guy doesn't have any direct...
