Hmm, never really thought about this. Good question!
IME, it has always been assumed that (Su) have some sort of v, s, and/or m component. Hexblades verbally curse thier victims, Balors gesture and fire bursts forth, etc.
One major exception that I can think of are (Su) abilties based on...
QFT!
We do this as well. Additionally we give each class +2 skills (fighters, wizards, and clerics are 4+int, rogues have an amazing 10+int) and combine some skills (Stealth, Perception being quite popular choices).
We (my group at the time) experimented with the WoTd20 book shortly after it came out... to little success. Only the DM and myself had any idea what the setting was about which made some of the character builds... painful (almost as bad as when Talath tried to get some of the group to come up...
I guess this is the place to post this sort of thing. Sorry in advance if this gets too wordy... (I will try to edit in the next few days as needed)
I have been slowly working on a Homebrew setting since late 1997. The settings name has remained constant, though I'm not sure where/how I came...
Yes!
You should absolutely drop the following: 1/2 elves, 1/2 orcs, and gnomes.
No special reason, I'm just biased that way. :p
edit: Orcs and/or Hobgoblins (without the 1 LA) make suitable replacements for 1/2 orcs.
Saga Edition.
Revised had issues. Saga doesn't mend everything, but it was a good step in the right direction.
Saga is what I expected 4e to be like for D&D... oh well.
edit: on that note, I have used Saga's Force System as an alternate magic system in my 3.75... with some tweaks.
Very much worth it. I owned the first two books but for whatever reason never got around to picking up the third book.
Shortly after the second book came out I modified and ran a mini-campaign featuring the Charonti as the survivors of a Netherese Enclave shortly after Karsus's big oops (the...
I, personally, did not like d20 Modern. It just wasn't my genre. If I'm gaming in something "modernish" its either going to be Supers (Champions or M&M), Malls&Morons, or something World of Darkness (Werewolf and Mage being two favorites).
That said, I don't think Modern "failed". I know...
Doesn't even register on the "Holy crap, thats borken!" scale.
"Trapfinding [general]
blahblahblah
Prereq: desire to be thief-like :p
benefit: as the rogue class feature.
I haven't used "class skills" for a couple years now.
IMC Rogues got some new goodies, so they don't even notice that the...
IMC, the term barbarian represents "primitives", such as some human tribes and... orcs. Its not a class (base, or otherwise).
"Rage" is a (powerful) feat-tree.
Some sites from my homebrew

Barovia (with the Mists, intrigue and horror... but without "ravenloft mechanics")

Cormyr (favorite FR location)
Daemondred Keep (home of my settings version of Lord Soth)
Durmstrang (Maure) Castle
Elsir Vale (red hand of doom)

2e: low level Wizard (I wanna say 2nd). Out of spells, seperated from party, heading towards camp... attacked by a pair of... bats. 1/4 hd bats (1/8th?!). I took one out with my staff, but the other finished me off.
3e: 7th level Monk. Party is attacked during travel by a "juvenile" Purple...
Which fiend is which?
I think Yellow is Nero (Yugoloth/Daemon), Orange is Cedrik (Tanaari/Demon), and Purple is Lee (Baatevu/Devil).
"Blood War, huh, who is it Good for?"
"Good Gods, ya'll!!"
I dig Demogorgon. His image might be funny looking on paper, but I don't believe any of us wouldn't piss ourselves if we ran into that in a dark alley. :p
Since he has been mentioned, I dig Orcus also. Not too into Grazzt though. IMC, Orcus is "twice fallen" (to use Wyrish terminology). He...
7) Invincible Psion
Part 1) Psi-Crystal Affinity (feat) + Vigor (1st lvl power) + Share Pain (2nd lvl power): Manifest Share Pain (you and Psi Crystal), manifest Vigor (wildsurge makes this even better) for max points, shared with your Psi Crystal.
Part 2)
As above; Warforged Race + Psionic...
<---huge fan of feudal japan... doesn't mean I know anything though :D
Disclaimer: I never understood Class Titles. They almost never make sense in character... and if they're not useful in character... whats the point?
("sweet, my fighter just hit level 9... Now I'm a "superhero!"...
Your DM sounds like some peeps I gamed with back in early Highschool. Personally, I'd find a new group or take over DMing (or talk another in group into DMing). He is just immature.
Don't be too proud of this Tome of Battle terror you're constructing, the abilities of the Jade Phoenix Mage are insignificant next to the powers of the Psion. :p
...err.....
I guessing your reasons using that PrC have to do with survivability... a Warforged Psion with the right feat and...
