Psionic Duergar and Magic in the Blood

I disagree with this. I don't think Arcane and Psi need seperate versions of the same feats for every little thing. Crafting? A Wand and a Dorje are the same damn thing, can be built at the same levels, with the (almost) same exact prereqs... why two feats? Same for "Psionic Aptitude" / Magic in...

Spiked Chain - AKA "The Cheese Whip"

Agreed. Fluffed as a polearm would be cool.

Spiked Chain - AKA "The Cheese Whip"

Eh, Fighters should be able to have nice things. What you describe above could have happened just as easily with the words "Empowered, Widened, Fireball". Fighters doing their thing is not an issue, and neither are the Spiked Chains stats, its that the spikes make the damn thing impossible to...

    velociraptor?

If you want badassery, go Fleshraker. Otherwise, the MM velociraptor and/or megaraptor (utah raptor?) should work. Fleshrakers are made to end lives.

    War Scythe

Spiked Chain isn't "broken". Its silly, and thus why I don't allow it in my games. A regular chain weapon that did all that (perhaps lower dmg?) would be fine in my book. Well yes, you can take Improved Crit with this War Scythe. Agreed!

    What's your multiverse like?

For the most part I am in agreement. However, I nolonger view the Far Realm as "just a Plane of Chaos". The Far Realm lies outside space and time (its own galaxy? or perhaps just has a hard-border with the material?) and is only Chaotic because the Laws of Creation do not apply there. If that...

Jeff Easley style art (or say, Todd Lockwood) beneath... "Advanced Dungeons & Dragons"

    What's your multiverse like?

I generally use the Great Wheel when DMing. However for my pet homebrew project, my Cosmology is different in some ways. Off the top of my head: The Pit of Hell is a location in the Infinite Abyss (the Fiends are not at war, though violence happens as you can expect when a sizable portion of...

[Eberron] Q&A With Keith Baker: Dwarves!

Very nice, this gave me a much better understanding of Eberron's dwarves. Nice to see you on ENW, btw!

    Taking a power twice.

If this was in effect when I was playing my Halfling Sorc (played from 1-3 and 12-16) I would have loaded up solely on Blazing Starfall (at will - had it tricked out to out perform my other spells for the most part), Sorcerous Sirroco, and perhaps Devour Magic. The rest of my spells were rather...

    War Scythe

No. This is basically one step better (20x4 to 19-20x4) than a martial weapon (Scythe) and that is prefectly acceptable for an "Exotic" weapon (err, what those other guys above me said :p).

    D&D 4E Would you still play 4e?

No. Regardless of the success of 5e, I will not be returning to 4e. The one guy in my group who wanted to return to 4e just removed himself for asshatery and DM-powerz abuse.

Psionic Duergar and Magic in the Blood

Ditto to Sehkmet's answer. I have personally used Magic in the Blood with "almost racial" SLAs, such as those granted by 1/2 Celestial or Phrenic. Note that Psionic like abilities are just... SLAs. Even if they have a psionic base. Or maybe thats just years of house ruling it that way... I'm not...

    Non-removable blindness and deafness?

You're the DM, this is your arena. You want a blind NPC seer who cannot simply be healed, make it so. Or if you need a "RAW" way to do it, have the damage from a vile source. As long as the PCs haven't have any experience with vile damage (can only be cured while in a consecrated location) then...

So the playtest is out: What do you think? The EN World poll!

"Meh" I am not impressed. Granted, it would take a lot for WotC to impress me at this point. I suspect I will be playing 3e on through to 6th and see what its like, probably in two to three years.

    D&D 5E (2014) Armor in D&DNext

Shields get short shrift in D&D, always have. For my games (5e or not) I am considering dropping their tiny AC bonus and instead giving them a percentile chance to simply block an attack. It works for Blur and Displacement. Alternately, I am considering boosting Shield AC up higher than it has...
