TSR Elf Stranded on the Warden: A Short Gary Gygax Story

Haha! I'll have to remember that trick where the DM becomes a player and an unsuspecting player becomes the DM :)

POLL: What edition of D&D did you most recently play/run?

I have a 3.5 campaign going which has been running since the beginning of 2018. Even though we only manage to meet every 6 weeks or so, it's still going strong. Like another poster, I'm comfortable enough with the system and have enough material that it's unlikely I'll switch to anything else...

How Many Actual Sessions Do Your Campaigns Last?

My current campaign has been running for 10 sessions or so and is hopefully just getting started. My previous campaign came to a premature end after about 8 sessions (due to the birth of my twins), and the campaign before that ran for well over 100 sessions. I have a hard time understanding...

D&D General Gamer Stats From White Dwarf in the 80s

Nicely said, and a good reminder for all of us. Whatever happened in the past, happened. Now that we are supposedly so much wiser, we should act it.

D&D General Gamer Stats From White Dwarf in the 80s

Thinking back on my experience, I'm pretty sure that any girl who had expressed interest in gaming with my group might have felt awkwardness and maybe even unintended hostility. I was super-shy around girls and intimidated by them, and the thought of relaxing and opening up around a girl...

    TSR TSR's Amazing Accounting Department

A company was working to build a revolutionary machine to build bridges. They spent a bunch of money designing and developing it until finally it was ready for the first field-test, but during the field-test the machine failed and fell into a chasm. So they rented a crane, drove it out to the...

How do you feel about player-on-player dice rolling?

My version was more "Spin-the-bottle for D&D players." Man, some people... :D

Would campaign skeletons address the lack of adventures for minor settings?

That's basically what the 1e Dungeon Master's Design Kit was, except it was more of a tool for generating generic adventure skeletons than a fleshed out skeleton. I don't think it was very popular, though, and it didn't get good reviews. I bought it when it came out and it spurred some ideas...

How do you feel about player-on-player dice rolling?

I'm so confused by the thread's main question. My initial mental picture of "player on player dice-rolling"... was not what people are discussing in this thread :D

TSR The Making and Breaking of Deities & Demigods

I resent someone on a message board providing a narrow definition of "god", then telling me I should ascribe to that, and furthermore I should judge other works by this narrow definition. I do not resent a fantasy book for providing a narrow definition of "god" that enables play of the game in...

Do you allow third party material in your games?

This wasn't directed at me, but I'll answer anyway :) Vetted to me means that I've had a chance to look at it ahead of time. I don't really care about the source, although over time some sources acquire a reputation of being more or less consistent in their quality.

Do you allow third party material in your games?

Absolutely! There are tons of inspiring and interesting ideas outside of official books. The only caveats are that I (the DM) have to review and approve it, and I (the DM) have the right to amend the mechanics at a later point if they prove to be problematic. Of course I maintain that...

The New D&D Book Is Called "Ghosts of Saltmarsh" [UPDATED!]

I love that they are tapping into old Dungeon adventures. That magazine was one of the highlights of the 3e era to me. There are so many great adventures to be found in it's pages. The Styes is a particularly awesome choice. :)

    Age of Worms experience

I believe that JollyDoc had an Age of Worms story hour hosted here on ENworld a long time back. He had a group of highly efficient power gamers, but it would probably give you an idea of how it runs.
