Pathfinder 2E Pirates & Gray Maidens: Archetypes in Pathfinder 2nd Edition!

That's what I'm getting, too. Which is interesting, because for the longest time I've heard some people argue that all character features should become feats and it would make the system much more flexible and easier to use. Now that someone is actually going in that direction, a lot of people...

Pathfinder 2: How Do Conditions Work?

I don't get the objections. Conditions are hugely complicated in just about every edition I've seen, 5e being no exception. If anything, this looks like it simplifies things.

What would you recommend to a party coming off of descent/D&D5e?

I've heard good things about Blades in the Dark. It's quite different.

Wait, is THAT how that works?!

I did that too! 9th level was awesome.

    Everybody Cheats?

I love that there are at least two posts that start out saying "I never cheat!" and then proceed to explain "except sometimes when I DM." :D

D&D 5E (2014) Does anyone still do mapping?

Yup, there is almost always a mapper in my games. A lot of people tend to have fun with it.

D&D 5E (2014) What does D&D mean to you? Why do you play it?

I chose Social, Coop, and Other. For me, Other is that I use it as a wonderful creative outlet. Each session provides me with inspiration for a flurry of imagination and writing. Essentially, I am "riffing" off of the play sessions.

    Skill Feats In Pathfinder 2

To take that farther, when was the last time you saw someone hew through 5' of solid stone using an axe in a matter of seconds? This is easily in the realm of possibility in high-level fantasy RPGs.

    Skill Feats In Pathfinder 2

I bolded your quote for emphasis. Why do you assume it is a mundane skill? Why does everyone else have to abide by your assumptions? In my games, the legends don't talk about that guy who did fell 30' and only got a little bit banged up. The legends talk about the legendary hero who fell...

Why Did "Solo" and "Rogue One" Feel Like RPG Sessions?

I think everyone has agreed to move back to the topic of the OP.

Why Did "Solo" and "Rogue One" Feel Like RPG Sessions?

It was going fine until someone decided to start throwing around insults like "alt-right" and accusing people of bad faith.

Why Did "Solo" and "Rogue One" Feel Like RPG Sessions?

First, thanks for the post. I find it a very interesting observation about the current state of Hollywood. I wonder if this in some way maps back to the "serial" days of early Hollywood, where the success isn't about one single film but is more about the overall body of work. Also, I'm not...

    Looking for more combat feats

Awesome, thanks, I'll check it out.

I draw the occasional D&D map

Sweet! I can't wait to see them :)

    Looking for more combat feats

Again, you and I are on the same page here. I'm definitely aware of the effect, but haven't made any real changes in the area yet. I think the biggest thing holding me back is that I just started a new group this year. The group has a mix of people new to D&D and people returning after a long...

I draw the occasional D&D map

Hey, I just learned that you might have had something to do with the newest adventure series. If so, congrats!

Player Bad Luck (Nearly) Ruins Boss Fight, News at Eleven

If they weren't bored, and if they were engaging with the encounter (rather than just "I swing - and miss"), then I would consider this a great outcome, even if the player dice went cold. So good job! Sometimes if a battle gets into a repetitive cycle I'll consciously try to mix it up by...

    Looking for more combat feats

I definitely agree about the dichotomy between being confined by or able to break the rules of reality, and good point about out of combat. Thanks! Again, 100% agree with these points. I've added a few options to address some of these in limited fashion, although I'm not sure if I've gone...

Fishermen, Fish, and Bait (read: "GMs, Players, and Gold")

It's been so long ago now that I forget the details, but there's a great example of this in B3 - Palace of the Silver Princess. I got at least one person each time I ran that. :)

    Who Was at Fault?

The GM was "at fault," unless there is something in the Feng Shui rules I'm missing. There was no real reason for the GM to rule that Player A took Player B's place in the hound's mouth, which is ultimately what spoiled the moment. That being said, I'm not sure I see why it is such a big...
