So I had this dream last night...

Ain't that the truth. Better yet though, i was amazed to find one that actually looked like she was blissfully tossing a d20! Rel, i'm pleased that i reminded you that Anna was at your GameDay. I don't recall seeing her last time i was there, but maybe that's because Larry King was hogging all...

GMs altering established campaign setting elements to suit players?

I don't mind altering campaing settings at all to suit the mood and /or desires of the players. In some instances, like the Conan example above, removing sexism from the setting would practially render it a different world, but if that's how a group wants to play it, more power to 'em.

Ye ask, ye shall receive (I didn't do the Renaissance garb, it would take too long).

    She's A Keeper!

I have to say...that's odd. Sorry 'bout that. You would think that someone with that much love of fantasy would easily segue into the hobby, especially given a spouse's inerest.

You aren't dying until you dream about Brittany Spears running Cthulhu...

Come laugh at me - my Players please stay out

I think you should combine all three effects into a new and terrible undead template. A vampire with mummy-rot bite, driven mad by having his mind and consiousness in a rotting corpse. Actually, a pretty mean thing to do to a character. Maybe you should have deity drop in and miracle his butt away.

    Brainstorming: A Wild-West D&D game...

Fantasy Flight's Horizon series recently did a wild west/fantasy take off called SPELLSLINGER. I'd buy anything from those guys, they're one of my favorite companies. Here's the link: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/hr04.html

What inspired the D&D magic rules and do you like it?

EOMR is a very interesting system, although i haven't used it in-game yet. I rolled up a character, and there is also the new expansion pdf that lets you recreate every spellcasting class from the core rules. There is a definite learning curve with Elements, it's not quite as easy as i hoped it...

What inspired the D&D magic rules and do you like it?

I think George RR Martin runs either a low magic or no magic campaign, and that's pretty much how his Game of Thrones series is. When magic shows up, it is spectacular and frightening and legendary in its uniqueness. It's not that i don't like the Vancian system, it's just that it's so old and...

What inspired the D&D magic rules and do you like it?

Would anyone else like to see multiple magic systems in the Core Rules of 4th edition? I mean, as others mentioned, there are already 3 of them, including psionics (which is still just magic) but having skill based magic does add a delicious flavor to the mix i find very enticing. More...

What inspired the D&D magic rules and do you like it?

The HARP system mentioned above sounds good to me, i've never tried it. I would love to see multiple magic systems make it into a new version of DnD, including the tried and true Vancian system for anyone who wants it. I think what most people want is more flexibility with their metamagic...

What inspired the D&D magic rules and do you like it?

YES, Geron. That is EXACTLY what i said in an earlier post, it's what i'm trying to do with my Midnight campaign. The different systems of magic will work differently, and this can be explained in-game as them being different traditions, or simply wizards/priests having more natural aptitude...

What inspired the D&D magic rules and do you like it?

In my Midnight campaign, whenever it starts up again, i'm going to introduce several different sets of magic. One reason will be to playtest them, but the other is to introduce the idea that there are different ways to cast magic or psionics, and some methods might work better than others...

What inspired the D&D magic rules and do you like it?

I am mightily in favor of spell use that does fatigue damage/subdual damage. Green Ronin's Psychic Handbook uses this, and it seems to work pretty well. I've even considered a simple house rule where wizards have much higher access to all the spells in there spellbook, but casting them does 1...

Tell me about Castles and Crusades

The reviews i've read about this are generally positive, although nearly all cite a need of re-editing. That aside, who has this, and how does it compare to 3.x of the game? I already don't use a lot of AoO because it bogged my game down, and other reviewers say they have house-ruled feats back...

    Slavelords of Cydonia

Thanks for the review. I bought Slavelords on my sheer admiration for GT, but i'm not sure how i feel about the product. It DOES require an immense amount of input from the GM. I think i would have liked to see more of that done ahead of time, maybe some sketches and timelines laid out. Still, i...

    Zombie movies

Just as a sidenote, Peter Jackson only filmed this scene because they had a little leftover time and money in the budget. Thank goodness, because it turned out so great and memorable. "Hyperactive!"

Attn: Users under the age of 20 (or thereabouts)

thank God I never got into that game. It would have sucked away any creative time available. I admit though, once they get those VR goggles perfected with Icewind Dale 4 or 5, i might have to break down and join the illusion...
