It's just modeling clay that hardens in the oven. Making this guy wasn't really hard, it just took a bit of time. First I made a brown body, then I molded silver strips one at a time and placed them on him, starting at the end of his tail, overlapping up to his head.

He's all one piece. I didn't paint him, though. It's three different colors of clay. Brown, silver, and black for the eyes.

When's this coming out? I have 2e's Illithiad, I love it. This sounds AWESOME.

Yesterday I made a miniature bulette out of Sculpie. I put him on a Huge base (relative to the D&D Harbinger minis) and I want to be able to use him in the skirmish game. The Large figures DO have a base of 40 mm. That fills most of four 1" squares. All larges fill a 10ft x 10ft square now, remember? 3.5.

Even something on the low end of huge would barely fit on the base I have, and I can't make that much bigger without messing up the facing size. Something 16 ft long (without a tail) would be 80 mm. My base is 60 mm. He's gonna be standing like a ballerina. I'm gonna go to a craft store and...
