    Sweeney Todd

I must respectfully disagree w/ the opening poster on his somewhat negative review of this film, as I thought this was the best movie of last year. I won't bore anyone with a long winded explanation of why I liked this film so much. Suffice to say that everything about it was just awesome...

    [Trailer] The Incredible Hulk

So long as they don't take stuff from the Ultimates vol. 3, it's all good. (As I've said before, Jeph Loeb sucks!)

Last Potter Picture to be adapted into two

Adult diapers are your friend, my good man. :p Here's where I must respectfully disagree, the Council of Elrond happens to be my favorite chapter in the first book. It's a testament to Tolkien's underrated skills as a writer that he makes what normally should be a boring and glacially paced...

[AICN] I Can't Stand Harry Knowles

Moriarty's just as much a hypocrite as Harry in my view. For those not in the know, I refer to an incident way back when Harry praised to high heavens a screenplay called Amusements by a up an coming screenwriter named Drew Mcweeny. Course, Harry conveniently forgot to mention that Drew Mcweeny...

Last Potter Picture to be adapted into two

:( Curses... Much as I love the trilogy, you couldn't pay me to watch it all in one sitting. :\

    [Trailer] The Incredible Hulk

Hmm... looks alright. But it certainly hasn't wowed me in the same way Iron Man and The Dark Knight have. Still, I'll see this, if only to see what Norton does as Bruce Banner (and IMO is a much better choice for the part than Eric Bana, who I thought was alright).

Last Potter Picture to be adapted into two

I've no problem with it. It smacks of milking the cow for all it's worth to be sure, but I'll be still be catching the last part of Harry's journey when it comes to the big screen. Course all I really care for is that Emma Watson will be of legal age by the time this comes out. :D

    Best Zombie Flicks?

Useless Zombie fact of the day: George Romero cites the original I Am Legend book by Richard Matheson to be a major influence on him and the making of Night of the Living Dead. Needless to say, had Matheson not written that wonderful book, we might not have had the brain eating goodness we...

    Movie Titles for 2010

To comment on each of these: I really should get around to watching this show, as I've heard nothing but good things about it. But the attachment of Shyamalan as director leaves me wary. This would be better entrusted to a director who can actually do big screen fantasy, like Guillermo del Toro...

    First look at Watchmen characters

But Alan Moore never cared much for the original Nightshade, which is why Silk Spectre has elements of the Black Canary, of whom Moore was more of a fan of. The same with Rorschach. While undoubtedly influenced by the Question, Moore took more elements from Steve Ditko's earlier and more extreme...

    First look at Watchmen characters

I disagree. SPOILERS While Laurie was certainly a reluctant crimefighter and never cared much for being a costumed hero, there was no doubt what a tough, assertive lady she was. Hell, she had a godlike being for a boyfriend (Dr. Manhattan), and was clearly not afraid to give him a piece of her...

    First look at Watchmen characters

I'd have to agree. Niteowl looks a little too sleek for someone who is essentially a rich dork playing superhero. Don't like the muscled leathered look on Ozymandias either. In the comic, Adrian Veight was emulating his idol, Alexander the Great, not Tim Burton's Batman. However, the Comedian...

Star Wars manga and comics compared

I have the third volume of the New Hope manga, and while Hisao Tamaki's art tends to be on the cartoony side, his action scenes kick mucho ass (his rendition of Vader and Obi-Wan's duel is a delight, as are his space battles :) ). Never bothered with the Empire and Return manga, as the art of...

28th Annual Golden Raspberry (Razzie) Award "Winners"!

 Seriously? I know Revenge of the Sith was kinda bad (well for me it was the best of the prequels, but that's not saying much :p ), but certainly not deserving of Razzie. But man, these people really do have hate on for Lindsay Lohan. But given her off screen antics and behavior, I...

    Indiana Jones trailer at Yahoo!

:D WOOHOO!!! The man with the hat and whip is back! I'll definitely be watching this opening night! :p

    Tolkien estate sues New Line

:\ Yeouch. And I thought the lawsuit with PJ was bad enough. It's one thing to cheat the director, but to cheat the estate of the man who inspired your most successful film franchise? Yeesh. Bob Shaye must be tearing his hair out from this.

Berserk - are you prepared to go all the way?

Bringing this topic back again because I happened to have read the latest volumes via some helpful scanalations. :D All I can say is... WOW. As Corwyn mentioned, the latest arc of the manga has Guts forming a party of adventurers to oppose Griffith's new Band of the Hawk. Reading...

A Dance with Dragons blurb released

Aside from wanting to see what happens next and hoping some of the nasty people in the series get their just deserts, what I'm really hoping for is the revelation that SPOILERS Jon Snow is in fact that lost son of Rhaegar Targayen and Lyanna Stark. SPOILERS Ooooh, October is so far away... :(

    Captain America returns... kinda

Just read the issue. Ed Brubaker does not dissapoint. :) WARNING! SPOILERS BE AHEAD! His characterization of Bucky is dead on. Of a man unsure in taking on the legacy of a departed friend, while unblinking in the face of danger. He's a man of action, yes. But a man full of doubts as well. I...

    Rami does it?

My understanding is that the writer's strike is the only obstacle to the series being approved for HBO. Once that's over, perhaps we'll see.
