    The Avengers (SPOILERS BEWARE0

Just watched it. Great film. And am here to give my ready assesment. So without further ado: SPOILERS BEWARE!!!! Anyone who doesn't want to be spoiled just skip my post. LIKES: Joss Whedon - Without a doubt, the reason this movie works is because of the man behind the camera. The...

    Mass Effect 3 (SPOILERS!)

    1) Soldier (Male Shep) and Vanguard (Fem Shep) 2) Garrus 3) Ashley 4) Reave - extremely useful, especially since it can be used to detonate biotic explosions. And let me just say that I intensely dislike the endings. I never expected Bioware to drop the ball so hard on their biggest...

    The Adventures of TINTIN

BILLIONS OF BLUE BLISTERING BARNACLES! What a great movie! Totally captures the spirit of Herge's books while giving it a jolt of adrenaline for good measure. So let me count the ways why I enjoy this film so much: WARNING! SPOILERS BE AHEAD!!! LIKES Steven Spielberg - Let me just...

    Dragon Age 2

My brother bought this and hasn't even finished it. So you can include him among the many disappointed. I can understand where they're coming from, but I don't think it's that bad a game. I like the characters and the setting, along with the little nods to the first game. My main gripe was I...

Doctor Who Series 6 Fall run

Agh. A little late to the party here. But I thought I'd just pop in and give my take on these last few eps of Series 6. WARNING! SPOILERS BE AHEAD! Let's Kill Hitler - Hmm... Not Moffat's best to be sure, but it does neatly tie up some of the plot threads he's weaved for the past two seasons...

    Fantasy vs Sci-fi

Does Mass Effect qualify as good scifi? While I do like the series' take on space travel and how the titular 'mass effect' affects society, I find myself liking the series more for it's characters and their stories.

    This year in Movies...

I've not watched many movies this year. But if you had to ask: THOR - An incredible achievement in my eyes. Made the one hero least likely to appeal to a general audience a big hit. Helped by the fact that they got the perfect actor to play the part in Chris Hemsworth. X-Men: First Class -...

Failed attempts to gain super powers

To answer Bullgrit's query above, the scene you described is from Peter David's run on X-Factor in the 90's (Note: not the 2000's series featuring the private eye Jamie Madrox). It was just one of those hilarious asides David likes to insert in his work. Don't remember though what issue number...

    Captain America: The First Avenger

Hah. True that. But while we're on that subject, I'd just like to say that whole USO plotline was a brilliant and original addition to the film. It made sense for the time period and gave a credible reason for Steve Rogers to be walking around in that costume.

    Captain America: The First Avenger

Well, just watched this. And I have to say, it's not as good as Thor, but it's a solid movie and a great intro to the Captain. SPOILERS AHEAD!!! LIKES Chris Evans - Truth be told, I wasn't exactly thrilled when I heard Evans was cast as Steve Rogers. He was annoying as hell as Johnny Storm in...

    [Trailer] John Carter

Wow. That looked better than what I imagined it to be. Sad to say I've never read ERB's John Carter books, but I've seen plenty of the art. I'm excited to see this. Now if only they could make a new Tarzan movie.

    Hobbit pics

:) Cool. Can't wait for the hires promo pics of Freeman as Bilbo. Also, you can really tell in that first pic that those two are related to Gimli. The physical and stylistic similarities kinda drive this point home.

Played by none other than Sylvester McCoy, whom some of you might remember as the Seventh Doctor from Doctor Who.

    Sucker Punch?

Exactly my thought after watching it!

    Sucker Punch?

That must have been some rock you were under, if you missed this. But back to movie, I'm sorry to say that it's bad, really bad. But bad in the sense that it's cheesy and over the top and worth watching for those things alone, rather than bad that it makes your eyes bleed just by watching it...

GAME OF THRONES #10:Fire and Blood ACT 10 Chapter 1-2011--Season Ending

Well, war is afoot, a sadist prick sits on the throne, the Starks plan to pay him back, the Imp becomes the new Hand, and things go bump in the night beyond the Wall. Yeah, depressing as hell, but still a great end to a season. Oh and the final scene with Dany and her dragons was glorious. :)

    Green Lantern

A huge wasted opportunity of a movie. Could have been good, maybe even great, but Green Lantern has to settle with being mediocre. You just know a movie that a movie is bad when the background characters are more appealing than the lead , or that the story is so uninspired and boring that you...
