    Suggestions to replace Halflings

How about beavers sort of like what's in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe? I think that could be fun. For even more fun, make the players talk in an English accent.

D&D 4E Opinions on the 4E preview books...

I declined to vote due to the lack of a choice of: What a scam! Books whose content about a yet-to-be-published rulest wherein the books' content may not even be valid after publication of the rules. What a marketing coup for WotC - a way to fleece folks of cash without actually telling us...

'no two creatures more then 30' apart' simple phrase, big fight

It takes a 5' reach to reach the adjacent square, true, but that's not the same thing as saying that the two squares are 5' apart. The ambiguity exists. I find these attempts to place a "absolutely correct" interpertation on the rules to be rather amusing. Is it not obvious on its face than...

'no two creatures more then 30' apart' simple phrase, big fight

EXCELLENT example. That's why one normally talks, in construction, about things like "6' apart, on center," to indicate one measures from center to center. To just say "6' apart" would have one leaving as 6' gap between. It's ambiguous, and this there are indeed two correct answers. To avoid...

    Learning permanent metaenhanced spells?

Are you saying he wants to use a third level spell slot to cast fireball with +1 point per die of damage? Unacceptable unless otherwise balanced out in some way. It should be a higher-level spell.

'no two creatures more then 30' apart' simple phrase, big fight

Actually, this is only truly wrong answer. :) How far apart are you from a 21' square creature when you are standing in one square that overlaps one of his edge squares. It's ten squares form center-to-center, but that is clearly wrong. Just as you are clearly not more than 5' apart from an...

'no two creatures more then 30' apart' simple phrase, big fight

But the range from one figure to another is NOT the same as how far apart they are. I completely agree that measuring from center to center is correct when determining range (this is very much like reach, too) - but that's NOT how far apart they are for that is not the distance BETWEEN them but...

'no two creatures more then 30' apart' simple phrase, big fight

No.... think real life for a minute. Stand right next to someone, holding hands. You are 0' feet apart, right? You MUST be, as you are actually touching. And yet, to move to the spot they occupy you must travel a couple of feet or so. The distance apart you are is how far you must move to...

    Magic Vestment

The limitations are: 1. This will overlap, not stack, with any existing enhancement bonuses. 2. It would use up two 3rd level spells. Perfectly legal, though, if your spell caster uses a shield (and why not? At least a mithral buckler.)

'no two creatures more then 30' apart' simple phrase, big fight

I don't think so. An adjacent creature is, well..., adjacent. The fact that it takes a 5' reach weapon to reach to the adjacent square does not make you "5' apart" from occupants of that square. It only means you can reach to squares that are in the adjacent squares. Of course, the area of...

'no two creatures more then 30' apart' simple phrase, big fight

Hmmm..... Think of it this way. If two people occupy adjacent squares how far apart are they? Answer - 0' because they are adjacent. Following this logic, if one 5' square seperates them they are exactly 5' apart (in D&D, anyway), and thus you may have up to six squares between people for...

    Most Unique and Fun Class?

I like the bard (with appropriate prestige class(es), perhaps), as he has many options - and those only increase as he goes up in level and gets more spells. He is one of the most flexible classes, and that makes him really, really fun, both in and out of combat.

    My player is squishing everything.

If you do it, don't do it that way - make it he takes 1/2 or 1/4 damage that he deals by falling on someone. Keep it simple.

    1. The boots prohibit teleporting more than max load and are limited to 5 times per day, but use only a Move Action to activate (wow!). Multiple opponents and/or multiple encounters will make this tactic weaker. Still, it is pretty powerful when you can teleport and still have both a Swift...

    Boosting Spell DCs

Spell Focus/Greater Spell Focus. I was SURE I was overlooking something. Only affects one school - but my best offensive spells with a saving throw are all in one school anyway. Thanks. Owl's Insight is good - but it's for Wisdom, not Charisma. Now if there was a similar spell that gave an...

    Boosting Spell DCs

I am continually frustrated by my targets making saving throws at critical moments. I'd like to boost my PC's DCs for spells by any legal means. I have one feat selection available, and can get just about any magic item created (if it has been already published in some official 3.5...
