    [Dragon] Contents of Dragon #314

Thank you, everyone, for your advice. I'll contact them when my plate has cleared a bit. Alzrius, I'll have to take your word that Paizo has had web enhancements in the past...I can find no supplementary material on their website. Richards, I'm glad you liked the article; it was fun to write...

    [Dragon] Contents of Dragon #314

While I'm continually honored to have my articles published in Dragon magazine and overall I'm happy with "Searing Flames: The Ecology of the Salamander," there was a lot of info they cut from the article. I'm sure most of it was due to space, but some of it I thought was essential to the...

    [Planescape] Essential products?

I'll second the above posts on the original boxed set, In the Cage: A Guide to Sigil and The Factol's Manifesto as being essential products for a Planescape campaign in any edition. The 3E Manual of the Planes brings some of the planar concepts for Planescape in line with the current edition...

    miniatures terrain

In issue #313, the miniatures terrain tiles are on pages 38, 40, 42, and 44. They are not an insert -- you'll either have to cut them out of their respective pages or copy them onto cardstock to use them in your game.

    Farscape Marathon

Yes! Sci Fi Channel has a Farscape marathon running today until 6 p.m. ET. God, I love this show...I hope it makes it back to at least wrap up the last season in one form or another.

    Gaming Families

I picked up HeroQuest for 50 cents! :D My five-year-old had no trouble learning the rules, although she can't read very well yet and has no strategy when it comes to selecting which spell to cast. As the barbarian or the dwarf, though, she's great! Yes, I cheer every time she rolls an 18...

    Gaming Families

I have four daughters ages 11, 7, 5, and 15 months. My oldest has played in some D&D games, and she sometimes runs her mother's character if our weekly game has started and my wife is not yet home from work, but she doesn't have the patience to sit down and read the Player's Handbook. The...

    [OT] Wow!

I'll say it again -- wow! A package came in the mail today, addressed to me...it came from the RPGA. I had no idea what it was or why it came. While the RPGA always seemed to be an interesting concept to me I never payed it much attention, as there are no conventions around where I live and...

    Planar Travel

My current campaign hasn't featured any plane hopping as of yet, but I certainly intend to incorporate it at higher levels (I'm looking to run Lord of the Iron Fortress when the group is high enough). In the past, however, my campaigns have all been set in Planescape and made heavy use of...

What specific stuff from d20 products are you using?

I'm using the greenbond class from Arcana Unearthed, a wide selection of spells from the Books of Eldritch Might, and a variety of spells, feats, and equipment from Dragon magazine.

[Dungeon] Which TSR Modules are "Classics"?

I have to chime in with the Queen of Spiders series, the Desert of Desolation series, Fate of Istus, The Lost City, The Lost Island of Castanamir, Beyond the Crystal Cavern, All That Glitters, and Ravenloft. They all have elements that were "firsts" in my gaming experience, and I treasure them all.

    Moms who banned DnD

My parents divorced when I was five because my father joined a strange cult called the Glory Barn (later changed to Faith Assemby), and my mother wouldn't convert. Because the cult didn't believe in medicine I was never allowed to stay with him; I've always had poor health, and my mom was...

Have you submitted anything to Dungeon/Dragon Mags?

I've had three articles published in Dragon since the advent of 3E, and another has just been purchased. I heartily recommend plugging away at ideas and submitting proposals...sometimes the editor might not like your idea as is but just might ask for something else (as was the case with "Open...

So how's life treating all of you?

My month has been pretty good, ArthurQ... My grandparents visited at the beginning of the month and got to see their four great-granddaughters and celebrate their birthdays. My mother turned 53. I turned 33. My wife gave me two Forgotten Realms novels and Ghostwalk for my birthday. One of...

    Pronunciation of Drow

I wonder if the ancestor of the "modern" bulette was the woolly bulette? :D And for the record, I've always pronounced it 'droh' because it sounds less comical than 'draow.'
