I think there is the posibility for Wizards to lose D&D, or sell it or whatever, but the industry itself is way bigger than WotC itself, and will survive, even if WotC somehow completely goes out of buisness.

I love D&D, in all its incarnations it has been the best RPG I've ever played. There has always been side games from other companies, but I always come crawling back to D&D.

The PDFs? no, I personally don't care whether or not there are PDFs available. Its the ramifications that I worry about. I was about to hop aboard the 3PP train... but if the majority of customers no longer support D&D, what will it do to the games/material/suppliments made for D&D?

I think my group got the opposite end of the spectrum in my last dnd session. As a whole, throughout 1 combat the players rolled 15 natural 20s. I think the combat only lasted like 45 minutes (4E combat grind-i-ness). so yeah... sorry that my players stole your luck.
