In 2nd Ed I played a paladin up to 18th level before the campaign ended, no kit required. (This was the only character I played past level 10) In 3.X I played a Fighter up to 12 (then retired him), a Monk up to 15 (then retired him), A Wizard up to 22 (then lost his sheet). None of the above...

I would suggest Hunter: The Vigil. I have yet to play it myself, but I've read through the rules and think would make for a great "Hero vs. Villian" game system. Especially if you want to make a game reflecting Supernatural or Angel.

Yeah, Class abilities aren't realy IN the description of the MC feats, at least not beyond the ones they come with. However, letting a human character do that doesn't seem all that gamebreaking.

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only DM out there that has the ability to come up with this stuff himself... am I right? Please say yes, there ARE other DMs who aren't clueless without a book telling them what to do?

I put everything I have into the stories I write for my players to enjoy. If my games all boiled down to how good or bad a combat was, I'd feel defeated and give up the game. Story is definately the most important part of my games.
