    Spell Components--do you use them?

We go with the default assumption of the game: if it doesn't cost anything, just get a spell component pouch (or multiples) and you're covered. If it is valuable, then you buy it advance and mark it on your character sheet.

    what if the kobolds won?

Kobolds are lawful evil, last I heard. They'd probably set up some sort magocracy (or dracocracy, depending on who the boss is), and there'd be perpetual scheming and squabbling as as they all tried to ascend the ranks. How much veneration the ruler would get would greatly dependant on just...

Record of Lodoss War migration into d20??

Quoted for agreement, though to be technical the Lodoss cast all got their start as D&D characters anyways. So this is more like coming full circle. Edit: Lodoss and Junni Kokki would both be neat to actually see as campaign settings.

Does your group have a "main character"?

I've seen it happen sometimes. It usually happens either a) because the "main character" is grossly more powerful than the rest of the party, or b) outright DM favoritism. B) can be nasty, since often the DM doesn't seem to consciously aware that he's doing it.

    Good vs. Good.... um, why?

In theory, rulers have to watch out for what's best for their people, and what's best for group A might not be best for group B. Cultural differences can also contribute this; think of an order of lawful good knights that regularly clashes with a tribe of chaotic good barbarians. Both sides...

High Level Fighter Vs. High Level Barbarian

It's all relative, honestly. A paladin could crush an evil fighter with holy smiting power (in 3.0E, anyways; with the Holy Sword nerf, high-level paladins probably can't take high-level fighters anymore), but against a neutral fighter (or, say, a dire bear) a paladin is just a warrior who...

    Unicorn? Archfiend? Huh?

    Wizards - standard spell loadout?

That wizard is woefully under-equipped for a L14 wizard, especially considering that he can probably make most of his equipment. A L14 wizard that doesn't have wands or scrolls to cover the low-level utility spells should be punched repeatedly in the face. 0th level; a few detect magic spells...

High Level Fighter Vs. High Level Barbarian

If anything, grappling is probably in the fighter's favor, since the barbarian is drastically reducing his own damage output, and the fighter is a freaking idiot if he doesn't have armor spikes. Grappling evens the playing field in the fighter's favor, really. I've played a grappling-based...

    Dispel Magic & Permanency?

Um, Permanancy costs significantly more XP than magic items do. Ex: A wand of Tongues at minimum caster level (it's a 2nd level spell, unless I'm having a brain fart), costs 180 XP. Casting Permanancy on a Tongues spells costs 1500 XP -- comparable to crafting enough wands to casts Tongues...

    MM2 - The destructive power of a Rampager's acid

The destruction is automatic, probably. Considering that a ravager is like CR 15 or whatever, I think they would've mentioned if its acid is less effective against magical armor. Anyways, it's the paladin's fault for not being charismatic enough :D

High Level Fighter Vs. High Level Barbarian

If the fighter is taking -15 or whatever off his BAB to add to AC, wouldn't it be stupifyingly easy for the barbarian to simply shatter his weapons? Sunder and Disarm are opposed attack rolls, not an attack against an AC.

    reckless attack feat

Or if you're fighting a dragon, in which case it's the difference between being missed on a 1 and being missed on a 1.

    silk shirt

Sword & Fist did that, I think. My group can and has allowed masterwork clothing to count as +0 armor and be enchanted accordingly. Wizards having access to +5, Heavy Fortification shirts may or may not be a problem in your game.

High Level Fighter Vs. High Level Barbarian

Also, the lower-level the battle occurs, the more likely it'll be in the fighter's favor. The last few barbarian abilities are brutal. The melee edge that a L20 Barbarian can acquire is much better than what a L12 Barbarian could pull off. An archer could put a bunch of holes in a low level...

    Is power attack too powerful?

Power Attack seemed kinda underused in 3E. I've always liked it, though. Getting a 2 for 1 conversion with Power Attack used to be a Frenzied Berserker ability, though. I like the change, but I did kinda go "huh?" when I saw it.

    Charisma - A Munchkin Paladin's Dream

+6 Enhancement and +5 Inherent, unless you break out the Epic Level Handbook, in which case the sky's the limit. My Half-celestial epic paladin had a 32 or so without any inherent bonuses. You have to play a high ECL race if you want to try go for higher than the 30's, in which case your...

High Level Fighter Vs. High Level Barbarian

A L20 fighter vs. a L20 Barbarian when they have identical equipment? Considering that barbarians aren't proficient in heavy armor (though I guess that wouldn't be a waste of a feat for them) and lose the use of several class abilities when wearing it (but those abilities would be useless...

    Obscure Object vs. Non detection

Obscure Object doesn't work on people, which seriously reduces its usefulness. All Obscure Object really does is foil Locate Object spells, while Nondetection opposes Detect Alignment, See Invisibility, True Seeing, Scrying, Greater Scrying, etc. Nondetection is a fairly low-level spell that...

Any reason outside of Roleplaying that someone would pick Half Orc over Human?

They work best as melee crushers (the +2 Str is handy), though they're fine in any class that doesn't rely on Int or Cha. My half-orc druid works pretty well, since he can fight effectively even when not Wildshaped. Yes, half-orc is an inferior race choice, but going for style really isn't...
