    Critique my D&D tool

Level (with the cool slider), role (artillery, brute, etc.), secondary role (minion, standard, elite, solo), origin, source. You might not be able to present them the same way as the items due to the stat blocks being different sizes - a list could work. These requests might be a hold over...

    Critique my D&D tool

This is a really great tool! Some suggestions/comments: The interface to the compendium is already way, way better than WotC's. I love the browse view and the level slider for items. Great work! Could we get a browse view for monsters too? I like how the program automatically calculates...

    Dragon Article: To Live Defeated

I agree that it was a horrible article. Articles listing ways to maim and torture your opponents serve no real purpose. I DM an adult-themed campaign (adult as in mature not as in erotic) and I would feel uncomfortable if a player suggested using many of the options suggested in the article...

Monster Builder (the non-online one) gets a patch!

I was a never a great program. Before the August update that brought the MM3 monsters and all of the bugs, it was an OK program. It was slow and a resource hog but it did what it was supposed to do (eventually). Now it makes great monsters, as long as they have speed 6, and no resistances...

Monster Builder (the non-online one) gets a patch!

Well apparently it was a cruel joke after all. WotC_Trevor posted this on the Wizards boards tinyurl.com/2cu7n8p: So basically Wizards released a bug fix with no significant bug fixes that just happened to remove content. I should never have got my hopes up. I feel like I've been tricked into...

Monster Builder (the non-online one) gets a patch!

Well that was a big disappointment! I've installed the update and played around with it a bit. Unfortunately, there's still a number of issues. There's no documentation as to which bugs were fixed. Triggered powers and recharge powers seem to be working better, but they don't function quite...

Monster Builder (the non-online one) gets a patch!

This is very good (and unexpected) news! Has anyone downloaded it yet? What specifically did they fix? This has been the biggest issue with my DDI subscription for me. I DM and most of my encounters use custom monsters. Having a stable, bug-free tool to quickly create monsters makes a big...

November 16th release for Web-based Character Builder

That would be me. I've now lost that ability due to having an old non-Intel mac and an old crappy PC laptop that won't run Silverlight. Not to mention that the character files aren't exportable.

November 16th release for Web-based Character Builder

I'm a home mac user and work pc user as well, and I'm not as happy. I have an older, non-Intel mac that doesn't run Silverlight. It still runs everything else fine, so getting a new computer just for DDI would be hard to justify. I do have an old PC laptop that a friend gave me that I use to...

    Heroes of the Forgotten Kingdoms

Cavaliers -Do they receive a mount? If so, is it a natural animal or a summonable/dismissable celestial mount? Can a Cavalier chose not to get a mount? Do they get something else instead?

The Flesh Gollum and Vampire are up!

The golem's hit points look right for an level 12 elite brute. What surprised me was that the vampire is a standard monster, not an elite or a solo. Classic encounters with vampires tend to be with an entire party against either a single vampire or one with a few spawn.

    Is D&D Insider worth it?

I don't think it's worth it right now. I'm in a similar situation to you except that I am a current subscriber to DDI. I used to subscribe to the print versions of both Dragon and Dungeon. I now DM 4e but use the Pathfinder adventure paths. I am disappointed with the .pdf versions of the...

    Spellweavers are really funly annoying!

The Spell Weaver Collector is a Level 7 Solo Controller. I'm guessing this is what the party was up against.

Class Acts: Sorcerer - "The Shivs of Sorcery"

Very nice article - I have a dragonborn sorcerer who will really appreciate it. With that in mind, is there any chance you could let us know what the Dragon Blade Channeling feat did?

    Storing Fiery Dragon Monster Markers

I stored mine in 4x6 envelopes in a plastic index card box. I cut the top flaps of the envelopes into tabs and labelled each envelope with the type of monster inside (orcs, goblins, undead, etc.). You can also organize your encounters by envelope to speed things up during play. The index case...

    Warduke

Happy thanksgiving to you too! let us know how it works out. If your looking for a good encounter for the elite version of Warduke, I think Warduke plus 5 ogre bludgeoneers (level 16 minions) and 2 vrock warwings (level 17 skirmishers) would make a good battlefield encounter for 5 16th level...

    Warduke

Here's my attempts at Warduke as a level 18 soldier. I went back to the critical threat in Dungeon 105 for inspiration. I made elite and solo versions. I've uploaded the monster builder files as .txt files. Change them to .monster to import them into the monster builder. Warduke doesn't have a...

Free downloadable plain text PRD PDF

Thank you very much. This is a great resource. It's small and fast and easily fits on a usb drive, allowing me to access the prd at work. Plus, it's great to use a a basis for a house-rules reference document. Thanks again, great work!
