Do you think Haste is too powerful as is?

You're not worse, but you're making this a binary argument. "Haste/No Haste", duration irrelevant. I'm saying that duration is one of many relevant factors in the greater scheme of gameplay. You appear to be saying that duration is not relevant to evaluating Haste's power. I disagree, in the...

Do you think Haste is too powerful as is?

All I can say here is that I have NO idea what all that still, silent 4 to 5 times a round stuff you're talking about means. Sorcerers use metamagic feats like everyone else, only it takes a full round. But maybe that's not what you're referring to, I just can't tell. You're welcome to your...

Do you think Haste is too powerful as is?

Wow. I actually *covered* that in the post you're quoting. Did you read all of it? It's all about duration. Duration, duration, duration. The cost for a decent duration of Haste on any item directly increases that item's cost in a proportionate value that scales with character level.

A Formidable Foe in the Forgotten Realms

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA BWAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *gasp* Now that's funny. You *do* know what Netherese MEANS, don't you? Man, this made my day. "When, not if" indeed.

    Burning Hands area of effect

No, REALLY, like he said, it's in the DMG. Page 69. It's one of the example spell illustrations for the "Area Spells" section. The only confusing thing about it is that they lazily put the "C" for caster on the line between 2 squares. But still, it's not that hard to use. 4 squares in front of...

Do you think Haste is too powerful as is?

Sorcerers do NOT have more tactical flexibility. Flexibility is the one thing sorcerers are lacking above all else. They are one-trick ponies. Their Haste may be good, but that's a known spell taken up. And you don't get many of those. I think my description of a multiple-encounter day...

    I'm annoyed at archers.

Erm, DR is an essential part of a monster's challenge as they go up in CR. While there may need to be a fix for GMW abuse, it is critical for an archer character to have access to the magical weaponry appropriate for his level. Otherwise, he's doing *nothing*. I don't really understand all...

Do you think Haste is too powerful as is?

Well, this is going to sound a little insane, but: Haste should probably be higher level. I play with it at 3rd, and so do the people I game with. Just like we play with Magic Missile and Shield at 1st level. Mages generally suck, no matter what arguments you can launch about the improved...

Robe of the Archmagi - Bless and Spell Resistance.........riiiiiiiiiight.....

I think I'll just keep reply-quoting this so it's repeated at regular intervals during the conversation. Since, after all, it's right. :p

Gaming group ponderance - draw attention to an expert's inexpertise?

Well, that's true, but that *is* how they put it on that page in the PHB. They list "Shield bonus" as a sort of type of Armor bonus, It seems. Plus they say "base armor class". Natural armor bonuses are covered later. All in all, though, it IS a silly question. There's no real game mechanic...

Do you think Haste is too powerful as is?

In the Haste aging thread, http://enworld.cyberstreet.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31590&perpage=40&pagenumber=1 Stalker0 didst mightily toss down the gauntlet, and I responded: Being the great confrontational :) :) :) that I am, I asked if he wanted me to post a poll to test. He did...

Robe of the Archmagi - Bless and Spell Resistance.........riiiiiiiiiight.....

I realize that, but I don't dismiss out of hand the relevance of flavor from the previous editions. Like you said, it's called THIRD edition, thus at least *acknowledging* the previous editions. Else there would be no number reference ;) My objection is with flavor, and the restriction to...

Robe of the Archmagi - Bless and Spell Resistance.........riiiiiiiiiight.....

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Robe of the Archmagi - Bless and Spell Resistance.........ri When used in D&D materials, "priest" means "divine caster". Just like, when used in D&D materials, "magus" means "arcane caster". When used outside of this context, many other definitions...

Robe of the Archmagi - Bless and Spell Resistance.........riiiiiiiiiight.....

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Robe of the Archmagi - Bless and Spell Resistance.........riiiiiiiii This is sort of my point. The definition sees fit to encompass all magicians and sorcerers, but *only* divine priests of the Medes and Persians. If it were meant as a term reflecting *all*...

Robe of the Archmagi - Bless and Spell Resistance.........riiiiiiiiiight.....

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Robe of the Archmagi - Bless and Spell Resistance.........riiiiiiiiiight.... Yes, civility is good. But as you pointed out, magus does NOT mean "divine caster". It means "divine priest of the Medes and Persians", and ALL Magicians and Sorcerers. And in DnD, it means...

Robe of the Archmagi - Bless and Spell Resistance.........riiiiiiiiiight.....

You have to have the spell prepared/ready for each day of the crafting. Edit - and it expends the slot each day.
