Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

I thought the same thing of Norris, too. Also, when using for ultramicrolite20, how woud you work damage, since it uses hits instead of hit points.

Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

I am looking forward to how this plays out. The difficulty I find in open ended magic is that newbies, at least IME, prefer that just have spells that do something specific like sleep, charm, or magic missile. However, veteran RPGers tend to shine with such systems. I am going to read it...

Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

I am a big Tunnels & Trolls fan, and have given the use of six-sided dice only some thought. I will let you know what I come up with.

Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

If it's any consolation, I personally don't care if the rules deviate from the SRD completely, as in my eyes, m20 has become its own game. That is just me though. ;)

Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

Ray, I get a "Not Found" error for all of the files. On a side note, would anyone be interested in a M20 pbp game?

AD&D Dungeoneer's and Wilderness Survival Guides - are they good buys?

The only reason I have them is to have the complete collection of OAD&D hardcover books. ;) Honestly I haven't cracked opne these books in decades. I just remmeber not really caring for them. Most of the stuff, like weather, I like to run off the cuff. The WSG also has a "personal body...

Did you use UA in your 1E games?

After seeing Allan's comparison, I too prefer the Dragon 63 Barbarian. The prospect of using it for a one or two player game like T. Foster describes is very attractive. It would take a special setting, one that is related closer to Hybornia than Greyhawk. I was never a fan of UA. I like to...

Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

In the first round of combat at least, I would let the polearm automatically strike first. There me sticking to the Olde Tyme D&D roots again! ;)

Who still plays older versions of D&D?

I like Original AD&D, 1st ed. with only the PHB, the DMG, and the MM. I would love to play it again but would only DM it with the right group. I am a strong fan of Moldvay/Marsh B/X D&D. I would play or DM this anytime. But recently, everything D&D related I am doing revolves around the three...

Is the AD&D 1E Revival here to stay?

OSRIC or no OSRIC, it won't matter to me cause AD&D takes me back to 1980, when my 20-sider was labeled 0-9 twice, and I had to color on of each number with a crayon for numbers from 11-20! I love OSRIC, but it is just a way to get mo' newer stuff for the Original.

Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

This is exactly what I had in mind, considering most ranges in a dungeon are about the same, except for large caverns, long hallways, and vast open temple rooms.

Is the AD&D 1E Revival here to stay?

Not to get all gushy and stuff, but I, a hardline 1e warrior who had sworn off EN World a while ago, am also glad to see interest and a nice recpetion to the older editions being given here. Regarding AC, IIRC it was T.Foster that stated on K&KA that one way to think of Descending AC is that...

Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

Someone on the RPG.net thread was asking about ranges listed on the equipment list and stated they are not explained. I am assuming these are the d20 standard "range incriment" without modifiers list (but assumed) and not the maximum? EDIT: Nevermind. It is explained in the full sized...

Is the AD&D 1E Revival here to stay?

I think the timing was right, nay, perfect for OSRIC, and I am not just saying that cause my name is on the inside cover. In the tabletop gaming industry, there is always a "turn around." Right now, a lot of the younger gamers out there that do play 3e, and are curious. Retro is cool right not...

Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

I need to get some time to check out the Macropedia. There are a few comments I want to make about the text, for the sake of clarification. I do have one question though. Since my memory of the way d20 stat blocks work, if we use this stat block from the rules... Bugbear HD 3d8+3 (16 hp) AC...

Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

Greywulf, one note, this clipped from the Macropedia: I don't know if you meant to leave out the other text about the fighter getting this at first level, but the text presented above does provide an interesting take. +6: for all but figther = one addtional cleave attack //// fighter =...

Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

Oh yes, silly me. It MUST be a melee only option, for many reasons. 1. Missile fire = little risk to archer. Melee fighter is toe-to-toe in a struggle for a bath of crimson death! 2. The idea of "cleave" is that the momentium of your blow has not only cloven through one enemy, spraying ichor...

Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

WAIT A SECOND!!! That might be one of the best ideas for a M20 house rule that I have seen yet! I peronsally do not like multiple attacks, seeing as the combat round is supposed to be abstract, where there is supposed to be swings and feinting and parries and such, and not (1 roll = 1 swing). I...
