    Hunting and Gathering in D20

3.5 has foraging under survival: 1 day's food/water Move at 1/2 speed for day DC 10, & can provide for 1 extra person per every 2 above 10. The DC should be modified based on external environs (harder in a desert than a forest). a cooking skill (Profession in 3.5) may be required. As for the...

D&D 3.x Bard Songs: Using Real Music to Replicate Bardic Music/Spells/Insipration <3.5>

I wouldn't mind provided the changes to the PrC were worked out beforehand and shown to me (I'd have to read up on the SC as well though). I'd limit it somewhat to appropriate deities: no for an elemental or nature deity, yes for a creative/bardic deity Would seem in tune  with the...

    player controled monsters

1ed (and maybe 2nd ed which I only played a couple of sessions) does not really scale that well for monster PC, unless as mentioned it is a short run or all PCs are in a similar position. There is Savage Species for using monsters as PC, even if it is 3.0. I'd consider the centaur based on...

    Multiple Simultaneous Free Actions?

If you are the player I'd ask the DM, if not.... Personally, as a DM i'd see what the changes are, then see if there was any game logical reason why it wouldn't be allowed (game balance probably the biggie here). I may require a concentration check that a PC is likely to make at a certain level...

Can I kill someone with a Folding boat?

For those that rule the victims end up in the water, why not on the wharf/on dry land if it is next to the boat? Potentially you are only changing crushing for drowning (albeit it is easier to get away via swimming).

    D&D 3.x 3.5 Ships wizard build

These may be in Stormwrack as suggested by SotS. The feat Ships Mage: +1 caster level on your ship. Any spell that protects from fire, projectiles or boarding actions (grease for people jumping across or on opposition ropes), sails burn and fireball can ignite objects controls winds (for your...

    Questions about sneak attacks

While I'd accept that ruling Dandu, what critters would now fall under the "has vulnerables out of reach" classification?

    Questions about sneak attacks

The problem as I see it is this: Dandu does not explain why, but True Seeing does not see through concealment, and the PC is concealed (I'm assuming that that is Dandu's entire argument). However, if the concealment is only due to magical darkness which the titan can see through, is the rogue...

    D&D 3.x Raw 3.5 sneak attack

Even if the rat knows/has pinpointed the square that the rogue is in there is still the miss chance due to invisibility/concealment. Your only real bonus is that you know which square to hit into. Rules Compendium, pg 76, last sentence under SPOT: A Spot check that beats the DC by 20...

My First Build: Mariner. Please Comment!

Mind you, even WOTC people can do this, the miniatures HB Marshal has the same attack progression, but the example character is given weapon focus.

My First Build: Mariner. Please Comment!

While rangers and monks don't for their bonus feats (they do have other limitations though), i'd have to say the style is similar to a fighter's bonus feat and require meeting pre-reqs.

Attacking gray ooze with natural weapons

I'd treat the natural attacks as any other weapon attacks and just add acid damage as Herzog wrote. Although, if using claws, hands, feet (head buts for monks ), what do you do with the rings, boots, headbands, horseshoes, etc? I'm disinclined to be overly tough on this so maybe...

    More attacks, or more damage...

Something from left field: I have a (well deserved) reputation for rolling badly in combat, so more + to hit would be good for me because not hitting means no damage.:.-( So... how often are you hitting in combat, especially with your iterative attacks? If the answer is "most of the time to a...

    Quick drawing stuff

The Quick Draw feat has a term "weapon-like objects" that can be quick drawn. Generally wands and similar items are considered weapon like (typically using something scabbard like to hold it) for this feat. I feel that the DM/playing group should decide whether a potion fits into the term. I'll...

    Pain Effects

I agree with this, try to make it so the player decides the sacrifice is something the PC would do (not easy in many cases). Although I have to ask why you would want to deliberately kill a particular PC (because the player is being a pain??).

Or put about by the demons/devils themselves to deny said weapons any chance of being used against them.

Need help desiging a series of skill checks

Several ways I'd do this: Having a tell tale on the undead, like your suggested wristband is a must. Add others as need be, heraldric symbol, arcane mark, plant/dirt. And then there is the simple Track Survival/track the undead back to the site Know Religion for undead likely to be in...

    Use Magic Device

to be more precise: The scroll has been used or the wand has been used up. You now have a new item so no +2. Also note that you need to have sucessfully activated the item before My SRD says: You get a special +2 bonus on your Use Magic Device check if you’ve activated the item in question at...

    Call of the Twilight Defender

It was me being an advocate for . (and I never said it was a good argument ;)) I agree that the spell should provide either temporary or healing HP. Personally and totally as a style thing I would go Temp since wiz/sor don't cure HP. Rules wise, curing would seem more likely. And...

    rogue weapon enhancement

Quickdraw the blade from a scabbard might do the trick. Drawing the blade from the ground seems like it would be equal to picking it off the ground (drawing it from a wall could be different).
