To me, this is the primary issue. We (gamers) want a place where we can hangout with fellow gamers and be surrounded by geek/gaming product. That space HAS to come with a price tag. Money is tight, always is, always will be to some degree, but we need to be willing to pay some level of premium...

Simply modifying the number of HP is a grey area? That seems to be the simplest method of altering encounter difficulty without adding or subtracting anything else at all.

Ok, so a question: If I use my judgment as DM to toughen an encounter by adding a couple-few more monsters of the same type, do the players get that extra XP for the monsters slain? Isn't that contradictory here?

Thanks for the pointer. From what I've seen, Expeditions modules include their own guidelines for adjustments based on APL, so yeah, I'm really only looking to tweak Lost Mine anyway.

Thanks for this, it helps a lot actually. I'm still learning 5E and it has a lot more crunch than I'm used to. I love the new edition, but I'm an old school guy at heart. Like I've often heard said of 5E, it's easily my second favorite edition! I see what you're working to accomplish here...
