Adventure Paths (AoW & ST AP) Hardcovers

Now this is just going from my anecdotal experience, but I would say you're in the minority (of the minority). There are a lot of people who buy D&D products who don't even play D&D. And among those of us who do play d20, most of us only play WotC stuff. I don't think it would really bother...

    Elder Evils Cover - Kyuss?

I think it's time you named names! (Or maybe WotC should?)

Adventure Paths (AoW & ST AP) Hardcovers

I sense some bad blood between WotC and Paizo. Maybe more Eberron would have help? I kid, I kid!

    Castle Whiterock...

MapTool has chat integrated into it, so you can see the map and chat in one screen. What tool do you use for maps?

Adventure Paths (AoW & ST AP) Hardcovers

Just the opposite. Releasing these would be bad business, as they'd be on the shelf tempting people to run them instead of buying 4th edition books. Heck, in our group we have a table running Shackled City and they'll probably still be at it in 2009.

Worldwide Dungeons & Dragons Game Day 2007

The prerelease tournament is the weekend before, so you probably don't have too much to worry about. Has anyone received the retailer kits with the adventures yet? What's the adventure? I was thinking of bringing in my laptop and flat screen and using MapTools to supplement to experience...

    Elder Evils Cover - Kyuss?

I was looking around for info on D&D Gameday, and I found this page: http://yottaquest.com/Specific%20Games/RPGS/dnd.htm This has a cover of Elder Evils. Does anyone know where they got this cover from? This is the first time I've seen it. Is it in the winter catalog?

    Castle Whiterock...

Most of the players I've played with online prefer text over voice. It is live via MapTool. If I had enough interest I could run it in Skype, but it's much easier to present room descriptions and describe events, for me at least, using chat. I should also add that I'm waiting for the PDF...

    Castle Whiterock...

If anyone wants to play it, I'm thinking of running it on Saturday nights. Join our site, onlinednd.com if you're interested.

    15 Minute Workday Myth?

Why not? What if what they're looking for is hidden? Do they go in, look briefly and leave? Or what if they need to assassinate someone? You don't think they can break into a mansion, sneak around, find a good hiding place and use magic to get the job done? Are you saying they can't even...

    15 Minute Workday Myth?

Like I said, it only has to happen once or twice in the history of a campaign to remind players that it can happen. There's nothing wrong with that, is there? Well not if you're wearing full plate I guess. But if a party wants to sneak around a mansion, take out a few servants and sneak...

    15 Minute Workday Myth?

Well this is how I would do it as a player too. If there's no reason to avoid caution, then why avoid it? And even as a DM, I don't do it all the time, I just make players question their time management, and I try to add a sense of wonder to every room. Well that's the purpose of this...

    15 Minute Workday Myth?

I wouldn't put you over a barrel. You'd just be missing out on cookies. The bad guy is polymorphed and hiding as a mouse inside the cookie jar, waiting for you to leave the room. Excuse me, the myth that it's a problem inherent to the rules of D&D. And that it happens a lot, which is not...

    15 Minute Workday Myth?

Certainly you can roll for it. I'm not saying you shouldn't. I'm just saying a DM (and the rules) can tempt players into taking 20 in order to make time management a factor when the myth denies it.

    15 Minute Workday Myth?

Exactly, that's why I want to take 20. I can do whatever I want! I'll take 20 and if the staff comes in I'll kill it and take its stuff. Same with the guards. And if they kill me I play another character that will eventually kill it and take its stuff. :D (The point I'm making here...

    15 Minute Workday Myth?

I'm not familiar with that new mechanic. Could he beat it by taking 20 on search? The fact that there's something in the cookie jar means that as a player I would want to take 20 on searching every square. Do I have to kill Lord Farfinoogin first to do that? Maybe, maybe not. But I want...

    15 Minute Workday Myth?

Depends on how quiet they have to be. They're usually whispering to each other about monsters. Or stories. Or drinking. Or studying ancient books. Or practicing their swordplay. What else are they going to do if they weren't in the dungeon? It's not like they have TV or the internet. If...

    15 Minute Workday Myth?

Adventurers go into "dungeons" (which may or may not include linen closets and bathrooms) looking for your stuff. You're there because of your stuff. If you wanted to escape you probably could, you stay to defend your stuff. Getting killed over your stuff is a byproduct of greed, usually...
