WotC: Do NOT tie Action Points to level advancement!!!

In our War of the Burning Sky campaign, I give everyone three action points per game session. It seems to work very well. I also allow them to use an action points to "cheat death". (Although I've still had character deaths...)

Wanted to know if anyone knew the answer to this. On the Dungeon Submission Guidelines Page: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/submissions For Encounter Format it says: "Encounter Format See below for a copy of our encounter format. Use this format to generate all tactical encounters...

    Do you play online D&D?

I made a new Meetup site for online D&D if anyone is interested: http://www.onlinednd.com/ If you play online, how do you play? Email? Message Board? IM? Virtual Table Top? We use MapTool, which I think is awesome: http://rptools.net/doku.php?id=maptool:intro If you don't play online...

MapTool - War of the Burning Sky LFM

D&D 4E We have more posts in our 4E forum than WotC has in theirs..

Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute...there are forums outside of EN World?

The Greatest DM in the World

Great DM's understand what style of game they are running: http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=197954 They also understand that there is no one best way to run D&D.

To WotC: How to Pick Up Girls

One of the girls in our group (ok, the ONLY girl in our group) is the chattiest in the bunch when it comes to 4E talk. Did none of your girls watch the videos on YouTube? Or read the designer blogs? Both of these greatly appeal to the token gamer girl in our group.

Tower Shields and Defending Armor Spikes

That's not a problem for me. I'm playing a cleric (combat medic) using it with armor spikes and a (non-proficient) tower shield and wand in hand.

Tower Shields and Defending Armor Spikes

Found most of my answers in the FAQ, but still wondering about the defending property.

Tower Shields and Defending Armor Spikes

I wanted to see how effective the tower shield is for someone who is not proficient with it. I still get the full shield bonus, the only penalty I see is "A character who wears armor and/or uses a shield with which he or she is not proficient takes the armor’s (and/or shield’s) armor check...

    D&D 4E 4e could use some official one-on-one rules.

I think they just need to make it easier to find people to play with online. Or make the game so successful that every town has a gaming group. I also run two solo games (one through MapTool and one through email) in 3.5 and I've had no complaints about balance. The best part about a solo...

New tidbit about spells and hit points.

Speaking of miniatures, has anyone else noticed that the "Bloodied" mechanic is is similar to the morale mechanics in DDM? I've always liked having something kick in at half HP, even if it was just "save or flee".

    D&D 4E 4e Dungeon Design - New Article

IIRC, the basement was a decent sized area. The tower was small but appropriate enough for the number of archers they had to defend it.

    D&D 4E 4e Dungeon Design - New Article

That would be interesting. I ran a module that was designed for 1st level characters against a party of 4th level characters. The monsters were Dobbin, the evil twin of Grigs (Jimminy Cricket people). Instead of pitting the party against a dozen of these guys, I made a mob from DMG 2. It was...

    D&D 4E 4e Dungeon Design - New Article

Well the goal probably isn't to have 20 creatures attack one target at the same time, but a crit is still a crit and will kill a first level character. Years ago I killed a low level character with a scythe wieldling grimlock who scored a lucky x4 crit. The player was a little bummed that he...

    D&D 4E 4e Dungeon Design - New Article

I concluded a 2nd edition FR Dungeon module yesterday. It takes place in a three story manor house with dozens and dozens of jermlaine. The party was 4th level, but these little 1 HD, shortbow carrying critters with sneak attack posed a huge challenge for the party when attacking in large...

    He said, she said

You are using a "3E mindset". Do they know there will be iconics? Assuming a pronoun is used where the gender is not defined, which do you prefer to see? If you don't care then don't vote, but the poll is to see, of those who do care, which one they prefer to see over the other. And yes, the...

The poll's not flawed. If you had to pick between one or the other, which would you pick? Don't like the poll? Don't vote.
