    Spoilers Rebel Moon-my spoiler review

I don't think it is a prequel, it looks to be a sequel because of the scenes defending the village perhaps with a load of flashback exposition about the main character's history, just like the first one (due to the scenes with her with cropped hair in uniform, although she appears to crop it...

    Spoilers Rebel Moon-my spoiler review

Titus seems to at least appear to be doing what he was recruited for, but saw no evidence of in the first film. The trench is lifted straight from the Magnificent Seven (well the whole story is). A least we see more of the robot.

D&D General elf definition semantic shenanigans

While all homo sapiens, there are likely genetic markers for if dwarves, elves, trolls, etc. just as there are for red hair. An orc, elf pairing won't spontaneously give birth to a troll, but they can give birth to an orc, elf or even a human by my understanding.

D&D General elf definition semantic shenanigans

Technically I believe they are, but that term (for some people) seems to have negative connotations (due the the "sub") even though homo sapiens (modern humans) would also effectively be another subspecies level with the metahumans, since they can breed with metahumans.

Clearly they are not genetically the same, as two individuals born to the same parents aren't even genetically the same.

D&D General Explain Bounded Accuracy to Me (As if I Was Five)

Yeah but a 15th level Hobgoblin Phalanx isn't the same thing as a normal hobgoblin they encountered over 10 levels ago. Bounded Accuracy lets you use the same stat block for longer. I can't recall how making medium creatures into swarms in 4th Ed works but I know from experience if was a stupid...

    D&D 5E (2014) Let's Have A Thread of Veteran GM Advice

You don't even need to drop an NPC on them, you can just remind them of things their characters would know, but as players they might have forgotten from the last time you played. If you want to get flashy and mechanical about it, you can even produce quest cards, that kind of work like an CRPG...

    D&D 5E (2014) Let's Have A Thread of Veteran GM Advice

Even if you only ever want to run D&D, play or even run different RPGs from time to time, they can teach you stuff about pacing, give you new mechanics and ideas you can bring back to your D&D game.

D&D General Explain Bounded Accuracy to Me (As if I Was Five)

It does in a way. With bounded accuracy, and a flatter progression, hobgoblins can remain a threat for longer. So can still appear at higher levels because they still have some chance to hit. Without it they quickly move to a point in the maths where they need a 20 to hit and so don't really...

D&D General Explain Bounded Accuracy to Me (As if I Was Five)

Not sure that's the main reason, it is more so by gaming the bonuses you get you don't make things impossible. For example in 3rd Ed you could by combining various bonuses to AC for example (High Armour AC, natural armor bonus, Deflection bonus, dodge bonus, sacred bonus, moral bonus, dexterity...

    D&D General I hate five-foot passages!

True but if you are a creature that needs to squeeze to fit in a 5ft corridor, you can bet you would design your home wider than that. Also D&D is a tactical game, a 5ft corridor means only the front character is involved most of the time, which is pretty boring.

Did the Ads Recently Change on this Site (New Pop Ups)

I really hope they are raking in the extra ad revenue from the banner and the video, as they are seriously annoying.

How long should a gaming session be?

I say four hours, but that's because it's how long I set aside (typical convention slot length as well). But in reality perhaps about 3 hours is ever spent actually playing, what with get stuff out, setting up, chatting about your week, latest Netflix series, having a mid session break, packing...

D&D General "I'm glad to be back playing D&D."

That tends to happen if you don't feed them the clues, if you are using a published scenario (particularly older ones), or are inexperienced running, you can put clues behind successful skill checks. Which means if players miss them, they end up at dead ends with no leads and no clue to what to...

You should look up cane fighting techniques, I saw a demonstration at the Royal Armouries in Leeds once, very enlightening.
