    D&D 5E (2014) Fizban's Treasury of Dragons

So, I just saw something on D&D Beyond titled the above. But when I went back to look for it, couldn't find the link. Could this be the next D&D book?

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D Live Schedule - Unannounced Book Reveal July 16th

I think they mentioned that it wasn't going to be one of the setting books :(

Dragonlance (+) What Would You Want From 5e Dragonlance?

I am ok with Draconians being a playable race. It is a theme throughout the Dragonlance series that even those who are the most evil are redeemable. Perhaps that can translate to Draconians. For me, it doesn't detract from the overall story, and could even present further conflict when a...

Dragonlance (+) What Would You Want From 5e Dragonlance?

I somewhat agree with you, but not entirely. With a GM that is intimately familiar with the world, an effective and well-made story can be made without all of the elements you outlined. For example...I ran a retelling of the War of the Lance with a different group of characters. Essentially, I...

Dragonlance (+) What Would You Want From 5e Dragonlance?

I think the post Fifth Age Afflicted Kender are actually a wonderful addition to the game. The child-like, curious, and cheerful eternal children have their innocence stripped of them and understand the meaning of fear? That is tragic! I really didn't like much from the Age of Mortals, nor did...

D&D General Treasure - how much, how often, and how does your group divide it

Was that Storm King's Thunder? I don't quite recall. It wasn't semi-sentient, though...it was fully sentient and would sometimes have full conversations with the party, including asking for different things to eat.

D&D 5E (2014) As a Player, why do you play in games you haven't bought into?

Some of us were interested, including myself. But yeah, I think in that case the "Ayes" were over-ruled by the "Nays."

D&D 5E (2014) As a Player, why do you play in games you haven't bought into?

Not quite, because again, not all of us had finished with our characters. And again, we're all first level...how difficult would it be to change characters over? I do remember posting on the board and in Discord expressing interest. Maybe my voice was drowned out.

D&D 5E (2014) As a Player, why do you play in games you haven't bought into?

Actually, it's on the forums. There was this grid and there were several questions and cards we were supposed to pick. I honestly don't recall anyone saying what you quoted, though considering one of the players in the group, I can certainly say that it is possible this was said. I think that...

D&D 5E (2014) As a Player, why do you play in games you haven't bought into?

The GM didn't present any hooks until session zero. The hooks he presented were generic, as is what usually happens in an adventure path. Not overselling. As I said, he had full power to veto any character idea or concept at that time. He was aware of what we were discussing, and he was aware...

D&D 5E (2014) As a Player, why do you play in games you haven't bought into?

I think you're misinterpreting my argument. We discussed our characters together before session zero when the DM was present. Then we made those exact characters during session zero. We play online. He was in the Discord call when we had our discussion. He was involved in the discussion in so...

D&D 5E (2014) As a Player, why do you play in games you haven't bought into?

What is the difference between discussing characters with each other with the DM present before session zero and creating those exact same characters in session zero?

D&D 5E (2014) As a Player, why do you play in games you haven't bought into?

Except, beforehand, we did exactly this. We talked about our concepts (and the DM was present), and discussed which roles our characters would take.

D&D 5E (2014) As a Player, why do you play in games you haven't bought into?

So, every player shows up with a pre-made character, right? Could it be possible that you didn't communicate your expectation that everyone create characters in session zero as well as you thought you did? In every campaign we have done as a group, we show up to session zero with characters and...

D&D 5E (2014) As a Player, why do you play in games you haven't bought into?

Fair enough...I will edit the post as best I can considering that it was quoted. That being said, I do appreciate your more measured response, and I will do my best in the future to respond in a similar manner.

D&D 5E (2014) As a Player, why do you play in games you haven't bought into?

Nothing I did couldn't have been undone. It wouldn't have slowed anything down, nor would it have disrupted anything.

D&D 5E (2014) As a Player, why do you play in games you haven't bought into?

Edit: In light of @Hussar's more measured post, I will be editing this to also be more measured. As he mentioned in his post, he and I both remember things differently. Nothing during the creation process interfered with his little game, which was a way for us to tie our characters together...

D&D 5E (2014) As a Player, why do you play in games you haven't bought into?

Nope, standard array. He was there when we discussed concepts, races, and available classes. Same thing we've done every time we've started a new campaign. We asked him what wasn't allowed, and that was it.

D&D 5E (2014) As a Player, why do you play in games you haven't bought into?

Maybe you didn't read the rest of it, or see my question from earlier. I didn't finish my character...I did everything but create the background. My question is what, outside of background, is different about using a standard array to create your character abilities, your race, class, spells...
