D&D was first written in American English. there is a distinct difference when you read English say from White Dwarf or the fiend folio conversions. so add English to the list.

i run OD&D(1974) which uses Chainmail. gnomes are dwarves who haven't been civilzed by the other races. faeries are elves hobbits are halflings there is a reason gnomes mate with trolls to make gnolls. they are the race of dwarves others fear.
