Tune of the Dancing Weapon, overpowered or just right?

Their "balancing" factor may be that it only lasts 4 rounds and would only work for the caster, while Keen Edge lasts for 10 minutes a level and benefits anyone using that particular weapon.

Tune of the Dancing Weapon, overpowered or just right?

Well, my bladesinger already gets 4 attacks, if he has one weapon dancing, and uses his normal weapon in hand... that's a rather nasty 8 attacks as a full-round action (once the dancing weapon is activated). Now, imagine a build on top of that had two weapon fighting.

Why punish a player if they can't come to the game?

Work has slacked up for a few moments and I'm piping in once more on this issue. I too, I'm not trying to make "better" players. I'm just trying to have a good time with my friends, and D&D is one of the ways we do that. It's not a training camp (which is why I kept brining up my military...

Tune of the Dancing Weapon, overpowered or just right?

In Dragon Magazine #335, they had an interesting spell in a section dealing with bardic magic. I wanted to get everyone's opinion on it. Does anyone think this spell might be overpowered? It may be that I'm seeing it from the point of view of my character, in whose hands it'll be quite potent...

Problems with creating a new thread in the 'Talking the Talk Forum'

Ugh this is frustrating... anyone care to post this for me on the Rules forum? Title Fabricate: the ultimate war-time spell? Body Can you use the Fabricate spell to turn part of a stone wall fortification into easily moved bricks? Could you use it to turn a wooden palisade into a nice stacks...

Problems with creating a new thread in the 'Talking the Talk Forum'

I'm having the same problem in the Rules forum. If I try reposting it, it gives me the "duplicate post" error page. But no post shows anywhere. I've tried using three different browsers... no luck in any of them. I am on a mac though, if it matters.

Why punish a player if they can't come to the game?

Grimstaff your post was insulting, that's the part you'd be wise to rethink, not disagreeing with me.

Why punish a player if they can't come to the game?

There are a couple issues I’d like to understand Why should in-game mechanics be used to deal with personal issues in the group? Why do some people have issues with events occurring to PC’s that aren’t present (of course it’s much preferred they be). The characters are an integral part of the...

Why punish a player if they can't come to the game?

I believe there are better ways of doing that. Talk to the player, let him know it's a problem. If he continues being inconsiderate, ask him to leave the game. I don't see why a game-mechanic would be used to deal with what's essentially a personal problem between player and DM.

Why punish a player if they can't come to the game?

Mallus, the way I've solved that issue is that at the end of every game session the player's vote to reward one of the players with a "blue stone". They're just little blue glass stones I picked up at a hobby store. The players can trade them in for a re-roll or for XP that can be used towards...

Why punish a player if they can't come to the game?

*nods to el-remmen* Noted sir. BelenUmeria, that may be part of it. I've always been careful to only play with people who's gaming style fits my own. There are no casual players in my group and everyone takes the game seriously. Since we all do that, the conflicts are few and very far between...

Why punish a player if they can't come to the game?

I game with my friends, not some group of strangers that I only meet to play D&D with. It's something we enjoy together, and if we weren't gaming we'd be doing something else together. As for commitment, just because someone has a busy life with many responsabilities doesn't mean that they...

Why punish a player if they can't come to the game?

Again, I think it all boils down to the kind of players you have. My players simply don't miss a session unless it is "dire" and unavoidable. They don't miss to play Halo or some other nonsense reason (not that I don't love playing Halo mind you, but I have my priorities :P). Mishihari Lord, I...

Why punish a player if they can't come to the game?

Btw Mallus, seems you and I use the same exact XP method. The only thing the players have to keep track of XP-wise is how much they've spend making items, etc.

Why punish a player if they can't come to the game?

StupidSmurf, your daughter just started college... damn you are old! :p I'm 33 and started gaming when I was 11. I really shouldn't count the first three years of gaming as "experience" though, it was pretty awful. Lot's of really silly stuff happening during that time... of course, I did get...

Why punish a player if they can't come to the game?

I don't think we're saying our way is right. It's a good system to have if you have mature players in your game. What I find sad is that so many people game with blasé players who don't really care for their games. Players who would rather play Halo or World of Warcraft, or just stay on the...
