    Maximum Allowed Defenses?

It depends on your design goals for the character. If defences are that important to you, you might be willing to spend 3 feats on each of +2 Fort, +2 Ref and +2 will. If it's only really one or two defences that you want to boost, you might take one or two of the +2 feats...

    Maximum Allowed Defenses?

Check the sources of your bonuses. If two of them have the same type (eg "item bonus" or "feat bonus") they won't stack and you will only get the higher of the two. Given that it's a feat that lost a point of bonus, you probably have two feats that both provide feat bonuses.

    March and Beyond

Ahh. We meet at last Mr Carroll... [steeples fingers] Wait. "We"? Don't tell me you're a staffer too (or do you mean the collective ENworld "we")?

    March and Beyond

That sounds like a WotC staffer talking. You know, we really should have a rule that you guys need to identify yourselves in the sig ;)

    Cleric help.

My battle cleric does just fine as the party face so far (notwithstanding that he's starting to fall behind the Hard DCs at level 13). He's not "CharOp" at healing, dishing out damage, or diplomancying people, but he carries his weight in all three areas. ====== Created Using Wizards of the...

    Paragon Path question.

**waves then looks around and realises that perhaps he is alone. ** I considered respeccing, but ultimately didn't because - you know what? - being strong and athletic is pretty core to how I see my cleric.

It's the end of the tier as we know it . . .

IMO, what is most important for the transition is a change in PC status; that they go from being "the guys some people know about" to "the guys who saved the city and everyone knows". The cool encounter is the cherry on the icing on the cake. The LFR necromancer trilogy (beginning with H3...

    Adventures

You really owe it to yourself and your players to try to craft your own adventure at some stage. This can help with plot ideas, which is really the hardest part.

    Paragon Path question.

Thanks. Answers my question. So it can be used to replace the level 11 PP encounter power, but not the level 12 utility or the level 20 daily.

    Paragon Path question.

I knew this would come up in this topic, so allow me to sidetrack a little and ask: IIRC, Reserve Maneuver allows you to "swap out" a class power. Is my recollection wrong, or is there some other piece of rules text that specifies that PP powers are class powers? Unless you're a Str cleric...

Items that give a bonus to Diplomacy?

I've got a +3 Cloak of the Chirurgeon at the moment, which is coming in handy, but there's nothing stopping me swapping neck (or head) items in and out. The +Diplomacy item is primarily for in-town work, whereas the other item would mostly be for wilderness/dungeon work.

Items that give a bonus to Diplomacy?

Help a brother out? My battle cleric is the face of our group, and I'm very shortly going to start having trouble keeping up with the new Hard DCs for Diplomacy. What items are there out there that grant bonuses to Diplomacy? I'm aware of the Cherished Ring, but a level 14 item is a big...

    Help with treasure parcels

Eventually, yes. Because the parcel system gives out enough gp for one item per level, it will actually take approximately 5 levels for each of the PCs to afford one. Eventually, yes. As the PCs gain levels, they will sell their old items or convert them to residuum. If you meant "Should I...

    Runecutter's Ruin

I find myself increasingly annoyed/disturbed by the threads seemingly created just to advertise a new article that has gone live on DDI. If the OP has some comment to make, or a discussion that they wish to have; so be it. But this thread, and many like it, seem little more than advertising...

Epic 4th Edition: We Fought The Gods

Ah, see, now that's what puzzled me. I can easily understand how someone might hit three times for 250+ damage in a single round. I thought the Barbarian hit once for 250+. Big difference :)

Epic 4th Edition: We Fought The Gods

Sounds like great work. My mind boggles whenever I read something like: It just doesn't seem feasible. Can you expand on how exactly he managed to get such huge damage?
