    Mindflayer's Interview at WotC

Okay, that little gnome is cool. I hate gnomes, but I love that one! He should appear in every episode from now on. It was alright. Nothing great, but the gnome getting eaten made it worth it and the cube ROCKED that show. Made me laugh, hehe.

    Official Character Sheets

The real funny thing is ... I can see myself playing this game.

    Official Character Sheets

I wonder if this sheet was made before or after The Rouse's design change regarding the use of the word "cool". More evidence that WotC hasn't properly playtested their material!!!!1

    Official Character Sheets

Okay, the official character sheets from WotC are just awesome. I don't even care about the new edition, I just want to use that sheet! I just need to figure out my server, now. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/4dnd/20080401b

    Pramas on the OGL

I would raise my original tounge-in-cheek with even more of my own hyperbole but I think your own tongue-in-cheek would force me to go all in and my hole card sucks. Who's big blind?

    Pramas on the OGL

While some people may have, indeed, taken things too far and gotten more worked up than they should I find it a bit irresponsible of Pramas to try and spin those who support 3rd party publishers of DnD into religious zealots. I would say that his hyperbole is more due to his own unhappiness with...

WOTC undecided over OGL/GSL. Why you should care

I am all for a more restrictive GSL. I don't mind standards, as I think most of the 3rd party books I bought would have met them easily (GR's demons/devils books, Monte's Arcana Unearthed material, Tome of Horrors). It would be sad to lose the opportunity for new offshoot systems, like Mutants...

Request: Keep GSL-related discussions here / merged with Should OGL subjects that...

Morrus, it's your decision and I'll respect it regardless, but I would prefer, personally, if you just allowed "GSL impacting 4E/how it relates to 4E" threads to remain in the 4E forums. I would say the 4E part trumps the license part, which no one has seen anyway, if you know what I mean...

Request: Keep GSL-related discussions here / merged with Should OGL subjects that...

I feel that since the thread isn't about anything specific regarding the OGL or GSL (which isn't even out yet) but, instead, about the ramifications upon 4E and the gaming community that it shouldn't be tucked away in the OGL forums which are there to discuss specifics of the license itself. I...

WOTC undecided over OGL/GSL. Why you should care

What you say may be true, but I think Clark has a point. A thread about why people should care about the OGL is something that could be considered broad enough, as a subject, to be posted in the General forum without it being seen as "pushing an agenda" but simply as putting the question raised...

From Robin Laws LJ: "small projects" for WotC

Is there any way to get a transcript of the event? I'd be very interested myself. :)

What is this I am hearing about PHB2/DMG2/MM2 being required?

Well put. :) I think this idea has a lot of potential and could be good for both the edition and for customers. It gives designers some wriggle room. But then again, money isn't a concern when it comes to games for me, so I can see how it would not be looked at favorably by some.

What is this I am hearing about PHB2/DMG2/MM2 being required?

I don't think they'll be rehashes. There might be SOME errata, I don't know, but they're supposed to contain new Power sources and the Classes able to use those Powers. Not to mention Races, feats, etc. I imagine we'll see Power sources such as Psionic, Shadow, Primal, etc. So, not reprints...

What is this I am hearing about PHB2/DMG2/MM2 being required?

And, since they are clearly core material (as in, you need them if you want to use those Classes, Races, Powers, etc.), they should sell well. Core books usually do. I think this might give the line some added life and extend it much further as opposed to adding things only in splat books. The...

Advertisements for Movies, Video Games, Board Games...but not RPG's?

I would definitely support some focused television ads. I'm talking like the Sci-Fi channel and maybe some others. I think it would be really great, but I have no idea if it would pay off considering the cost. Still, I'd love for DnD to start sponsoring some select television shows and such...

Richard Baker on Orcus and Deity Slaying

If people don't want to kill Gods then I think that's perfectly fine. However, as the "big bang" at the end of an Epic adventure, I would like the option available. It's much easier for the game to include some stats to typical extreme beings for those who want the option than to not do so and...

Blog post on the feel of D&D (marmell, reynolds et all)

That may be true, but I think that they are just as likely to give some pretty detailed criticism that the game's designers may overlook themselves. We know already for a fact that the designers overlooked a few things that were straightened out during playtesting. Having another designer giving...

Richard Baker on Orcus and Deity Slaying

I suggest that those who don't want to kill Gods not plan any adventures where their players can kill Gods. I think that this may save the world as we know it ... if we're all careful. But as for me, those buggers are taking a dirt nap while sipping their morning coffee and looking over their...

The Economics of Open Gaming - An Open Letter To WotC

This is absolutely correct. The positive effects from the OGL were amazing and few people understand them. Most people just don't understand how much they can gain from its existence. Not only was it win-win for WotC, it was a huge boon to DnD players, even if the NEVER bought a 3rd party...

    Roles

This is a somewhat related questions (and I apologize if it's considered a derail): Are there that many people who really don't like everyone being effective, but in different ways, in combat? I've read several different posts across the various boards complaining that each Class would be...
