The rules state that they only regenerate when mostly immersed in water. Would you allow them to regenerate when in the rain? If so, how heavy would it have to be raining? Or would you allow them to regenerate, just not as quickly? Or is this stretching the rules too much?

Or see if your DM will let you do something unique for your mount. Just think, horseshoes of striding/springing, or flying etc.

That's why I'd be house ruling this so that search could be used for more than just a 10' bubble. I've often thought about creating a 'Perception' skill that would combine Search and Spot into one skill. In my mind, they could be 2 sides of the same coin. Like Hide/MS.

I should have expanded a bit more. The point I was trying to make was that the original post has 2 monks at CR 13, an assasin at CR 8... If I'm reading/using the terminology correctly, the 2 monks alone are well beyond the party's abilities.

This may be a dumb question, but I thought character level had little to do with CR? I thought a party of 4 level 10 PCs would be balanced against an encounter rated CR 10 - 13?

I removed the CON penalty and actually gave them a CHA +2 bonus. So they've got STR -4, DEX +2, CHA +2. Hasn't thrown anything out of whack so far.
