What are you reading in 2024?

If you're attached to Rincewind, you certainly could, but I think it's completely reasonable to pick up a different thread. Really, you're already ready the two books that are most different structurally than the rest of the series, so it doesn't much matter now. Pratchett was still mostly doing...

Level Up (A5E) Additional Eldritch Invocations for Pact of the Chain Warlocks

Could you just steal the Druid Wildshape AC progression? Maybe also the temporary hit points as well. Say, give warlocks (or maybe even the familiar itself) a Prof/short rest gain 1d4*Prof temporary hit points bonus action.

What are you reading in 2024?

I've found if you go through the effort to set up a seltzer fountain in your house, you'll eventually make your way through any syrup or shrub or other flavoring concoction in homemade soda form.

What are you reading in 2024?

It might be best to simply skip around and see if any synopsis appeals to you (there is really no strong need to read Discworld books in any particular order), though I do agree that Guards! Guards! is really the best starting point, and if you don't like that, you probably won't care for any of...

Virtual Happy Hour (Brews & Spirits, Pics & Reviews)

I'm trying out a new round of shrubs, my last attempts were pretty popular with guests. They're a little sweet for me, but people seem to like something a little more conventionally soda-like to try with the seltzer tap. On the left we have a blueberry pomegranate in the little bottles and a...

Only because it's modestly relevant to my campaign....is esper/fighter in the cards? :)

Roleplaying Mechanics - The Value Test [Mechanics for Roleplaying instead of no mechanics]

I think you could use more clarification about precisely what should prompt a Value test in the first place. Right now it's largely entirely up to the GM, with some potential input from the player. I think you want more clarity around frequency, the scale of an event that should require value...

Level Up (A5E) Spellcrafting Mage Armor

I'd do a detonation effect. Either defensive, say, "when hit by an attack, as a reaction you may end the spell immediately to become resistant to all damage types dealt by the attack until the start of your next turn" or offensive "after being struck by an attack, you may end the spell as a...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Sounds a lot like the Los Angeles problem, where the highway was built for significantly slower speeds and less traffic than it now has to accommodate, leading to very similar situations. I'm not terribly pro car to begin with, but it makes me especially sad that we're dealing with poorly...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

That's a slightly different scenario, where a lane is used for both entry and exit. That's arguably a failure of highway design, not of the drivers involved. In a better world, you'd split that in half, forcing a merge in, then opening an additional exit lane (though of course, much highway...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

The one that gets me every time is people who completely fail to use the merging lane to begin with. My commute involves entering a (usually crawling speed in the morning) highway on a merge lane that ends, and then the new rightmost lane ends again slightly further along. If everyone zippered...

3PP Release Available Now: Multiclasser's Manual, Volume 1

I think that's unqualified good! After all, that's what print proofs are for, so we're solidly back on the normal track.

D&D 5E (2024) Command is the Perfect Encapsulation of Everything I Don't Like About 5.5e

Is it? Compelling a single action's worth of friendly fire seems like a reasonable downgrade from Crown of Madness' multiple such actions 1 spell level higher.

D&D 5E (2024) Command is the Perfect Encapsulation of Everything I Don't Like About 5.5e

I can sort of see a short combat duration argument that being only 1 round is not a terribly significant nerf, but that still sounds crazy given the 1 minute on Dominate Person or 1 hour on Charm Person. We've got Crown of Madness at 2nd level which is arguably a better comparison anyway...

Snarf's Unwarranted Repose- Lazy Law Explained Badly

I quite like the idea of a lawyer on retainer being an essential adventuring party expense. I imagine they have a lot of the same legal troubles as penetration testers, to say nothing of all the contracts they get involved in.

D&D 5E (2024) Command is the Perfect Encapsulation of Everything I Don't Like About 5.5e

Only because it seems relevant to this back and forth... What is the appropriate level for a 1 round dominate spell with "save negates?"

I think that was a mistag, based on context, and that was intended for @Daztur . Could be wrong though!

Level Up (A5E) Mountebank 3rd level feature question

Right, hence my point that 5e derived games are not really amenable to technical reading and get squirrelly when you start tugging at inconsistencies. There simply isn't an answer in most cases, because there isn't a consistent template for what each usage entails.

Level Up (A5E) Mountebank 3rd level feature question

Right, I was being inclusive of A5E and other 5e derived systems. My point is, I think it's reasonable to read "an action" and "actions" differently, if you're looking for textual support.
